Haha yeah, the dark humor rocked. "That was a $200 shirt, by the way."

Review-wise, it's been a long time indeed since I attempted to churn out a review...I'm going to try and write something down about each movie I see from now on.

I thought it was a decent movie, nothing special but not bad, was entertaning. My only quam with the movie was they could have cast someone better as the Devil (I wish Al Pacino would have done it, that would have been nice.) I want his gun, that is bad ass.

I saw a pirated copy at my friends house. so sue me.

Anyway, when the movie finished all i could do was rub my head. Four days later I'm still not sure if the movie I saw was one of the better I've sene or one of the worst. There's no in between about it. The plot was extraordinarily complex (I eat up complex stories like nothing...I'm a huge sucker for a good complex plot). Constantine was a prett kickass character, and Reeves wasn't too bad in his role. The whole thing with Gabriel though (if you've seen it, you know) was too ridiculous for me, though, and really rbought down what would otherwise have been a spectacular movie.

The Only good thing i can say about Constantine is that the Story is very interesting, uummm .... there were some... fun scenes...

You know, the Opening scene and when the girl was possessed or whatever were Great, it really looked like it was going to be a fantastic movie, but from there it all went downhill, then up again and down it went yet again

The pacing was horrible, VERY slow

The Acting was...bad and Keanu was....bad, like always
Its a .... OK movie, nothing special

Better than I expected but still not better than ELEKTRA  I enjoyed watching this movie until there was about fourty minutes left, it got stupid and boring. I'm sure I am the only one that thinks that but I enjoyed everything that happened before that to be the best thing about the movie. Then it picks up again with about ten minutes left. The movie could've been so much better if thirty minutes of it was improved or if it was cut a little bit. I'll definetely buy this, I probably won't buy it brand new, I don't think it's really worth that but I'll definetely buy it previewed at Blockbuster or something. Maybe if I even find the two disk cheap enough (as in less than $20) I'll buy that but if not, I'll be buying the previewed one disk.

6/10 (B-)

It was a mildly entertaining film, really ridiculouse but what do you expect?
I give it a C.

This film does not know anything about catholicism.Trying to buy yourself into heaven? Thats bullshit, all you have to do is to ask jesus truthfully to forgive you, even if you do commit suicide you can be saved.

It wasn't bad. It's entertaining, and the special effects are pretty nice. The acting is okay. I thought Tilda Swinton was the real standout, she was amazing in her role. I also really liked the ending. Some of it was cheesy, but most of it I enjoyed, so it gets an okay grade for keeping me entertained for a good 2 hours.

I bought this movie the other day, the special edition. It wasn't a blind buy, i had watched it once a number of months ago and watched it with someone who isn't a movie person who kept talking and walking by the screen and just generally ruining the experience. My reaction after that viewing was a "meh". I didn't hate it, but i wasn't thrilled with it either. Then on this past Monday, it was 1120pm and i was just looking through the movie channels to kill some time before late-night tv. I came across Constantine, which started at 1120. I put it on just as the WB logo was coming up. It is now Wednesday and i bought the special edition, and watched all the special features (barring commentary, soon....). Needless to say, i really like this movie. I have never had the issues with Keanu Reeves as some people have had, as i see it differently. Some see Keanu as a bad actor who plays the same guy, i see it as playing to his strengths. If you know you are good at stoic hero type people and some comedy, would you really audition for Capote? As Constantine i thought that Reeves did a great job and this is easily my favorite performance by him. I thought the cast all did well. I used to have this hatred/dislike of Shia LeBouf but lately he has been getting to me and i actually like him now. I don't know what he did, but i find him amusing in his roles and consistant. Rachel Weisz was solid, as per usual. Tilda Swinton and Djimon Hounsou filled out their roles nicely, and i was really amused with Peter Stormare as satan. He was so slimy and yet scary at the same time (plus those Volkswagon commercials are hilarious, "ve just dropped eet like eets hawt"). As for the story, i was completely taken with it, it was so interesting. My friends all find this rather surprising, as i loathe religion in all forms, but in the world of Constantine, it is all very real. God is real, the devil is real, heaven and hell, all that fun stuff. I also love Serenity, and in that world all of that space travel is real and reavers are dangerous. That is why i am okay with religion in Constantine, as to me it is as realistic as space battles and reavers. The visuals were all stunning, and that was easily the best hell i have ever seen (and i've been to arizona). I could go on and on like this, but i think you get the picture. I wouldn't mind a Constantine 2, provided it actually adds something and isn't just a waste of time.

A solid B+...I liked Reeves in the film, because his type of delivery suited his character perfectly for once (besides Bill and Ted)...The movie's views on Catholicism are intriguing and humorous, and I liked how they didn't go by the numbers with all the cliches usually attached to religious films. FX weren't top-notch, but very solid...Storemare's Satan is by far one of the more memorable portrayals I've seen in quite some time, he a lot of fun with the character, and breathed some life into a character that could have come off as very boring and run-of-the-mill. He single-handedly saves the last 20 minutes of the film. Swinton was fine, not great, and Weisz was decent enough to keep one's attention focused on the plot.

Visually stunning and quite interesting. When I first saw it in theatres I was very impressed, but when I watched it again recently, I thought my grade would go down. But it actually went up. I noticed a lot of little things in it that made it even better the second time around. The cinematography is fantastic. The effects are superb. The story is very well-told, and the action is suitably minimal but perfectly effective. Reeves and Weisz still don't do a good job, but their performances aren't nearly as bad as they could have been. Great flick.
