It didn't appear from the trailer to be HAHA funny. Is the love for this because of the comedy being so funny or something else?
I loved it because it was so poignant and heartwarming, yet strangely dark and quirky at the same time.

It definitely sounds like one that is a treat to go to the theater to see. I really am tempted to make the drive, but I'll hold off, at least until next weekend.
I'm guessing it may have screenplay possibilities?

I just wasn't highly impressed by Little Miss Sunshine, it had great acting and everything, but I guess the story was just a bit off. It seemed like it tried to be an adult comedy, but none of the funny stuff seemed that "smart" to me. I don't know, maybe I came in expecting something else. It's an odd little movie, but I did like it in the end, just not as much as I thought I would.

The acting was great from all (surprised that Carell did as well as he did in a non-comedic role). Did the beauty pagent at the end freak anyone else out? It was almost horror movieish how fake they looked.
One issue: How could Dano's character get as old as he is without anyone finding out that he's color blind? I remember the doctor testing me for that when I was in first grade as part of the required check-up. I would say I told you so, but I'm just glad another person enjoyed it.
But what's up with Dano going undiagnosed for color blindness for so long? That part of the story was a little unbelievable.

That's what I noticed as well. Another thing was how did the family never see Olive's performance before?? How else did she get to the finals? Oh well.

Didn't they say in the movie that Olive was in the regional pageant when she was visiting Sheryl's sister?

Olive was in the regional pageant but the whole deal was that she was with her Aunt and Uncle and her grandfather had been teacher her since.
I thought the movie was wonderful. Absolutely wonderful.
The character introduction at the beginning was straight out of the Magnolia handbook.

Wow!
I thought you didn't like most things too, so I guess this is high praise.

I loved the bus and how it was a metaphor of the family.

She did another performance for the talent performance, so she decided to change it for the finals. and the family didn't go her last pagent. So that answers your question.

Just an FYI for everyone...
Color Blindness CAN occur after birth. It can be caused by many things. He could've come in contact with a chemical and not have known that it damaged his eyes.
So, there is your explaination.

Wow, I saw this today and it was amazing. The best of the year, easily. The entire cast was awesome, especially Breslin and Dano. Each steals my two favorite scenes in the movie.

Little Miss Sunshine is the best film of 2006. I loved every minute of it. The cast was perfect and I loved the scenes with the bus. I highly recommend this to anyone who hasn't seen it. You won't regret catching it in theaters. A+

Definately one of my favorite movies of the year. I loved how the whole dysfunctional family interacted with one another. But you could tell that even though they all had their faults, they all still love and care for each other...just like families should.

Wow, look like KJ is united on something. From bradley to Libs, from Spider-Man to andaroo, every spectrum is pretty much covered.

And we won't know if they actually think that way or are just bucking the trend. It would have to be the later, obviously.
