Monster trucks really have no place in a demolition derby. There's no regard for the safety of any of the characters in this film.

The Herbie body count would be very high if the film wasn't rated G.

That one scene alone has been bothering me, though, because I can't seem to figure out how the hell someone could land perfectly in the passagner seat if Herbie flips over and gets Lohan in through the sunroof. :-k

This movie isn't as bad as everyone is saying. I thought it was cute. This is not Lindsay Lohan's best performance, but pretty good. I just thought this was an enjoyable family comedy that I liked along with the audience.

Well I liked it. (and it's not because I love Lindsay Lohan, I gave Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen a D+)

You're really not a nice guy. He liked a movie, he said some good points about it, it's not a fucking review. Oh and about Lindsay Lohan performances, she was great in MEAN GIRLS, so it's not like she's always bad. Actually, she's almost never bad.

I never said he wasn't entitled to his opinion. I just happen to find it laughable that someone, anyone, would give a film like Herbie a B. Grading like that negates the entire purpose.

If that means I'm not a nice guy, oh well.

I don't like to get involved.. but it's called an opinion. Grow the hell up. If you think that the film is 'laughable' that's your opinion -- it doesn't mean that someone else isn't entitled to like it.

Exactly. We're on the same page it seems. People are entitled to like bad films and I'm entitled to laugh at them.

It's lovely how that works.

Right, and just because you said it's a bad film doesn't mean that it is. What you consider a bad film others might consider a good film. Because you say it's bad doesn't make it a fact.

And that's why it's called opinion.

Isn't it great when people preface asinine comments by saying "I don't like to get involved." Then don't get fucking involved. No one called for a Charlie's Angel.

He really enjoyed the film. I find that funny. Big deal. Move on.

This thread is for discussion of Herbie greasedlightning. Take the drama elsewhere.

I hadn't thought about it. Maybe?

Um, Prozac Nation put me to sleep. Christina Ricci is a bobblehead.

That's the best I could do on such short notice.

You're acting like a jerk, I figured people would be more mature, guess I gave some of you too much credit.

I agree with greasedlightning all the way. If you hated it londan that's cool, and if Spider-Man enjoyed it that's cool. Why can't we just accept each other's opinion? Nobody is wrong here. Everyone has their own taste. I hate when people make fun of others when they like something they didn't. And it's hardly like this is being touted as the worst film of the year. The reviews weren't bad at all. They are mixed and it has a good number of positive ones. Not bad for a movie that looked pretty lame (but still entertaining).

I think the movie looks cheesy but enjoyable. I'm predicting a B- rating. And I actually liked Drama Queen too (7/10 or B-). I like to keep an open mind and enjoy many different kinds of movies. Sure these movies won't make me "Best of The Year" list at the end of the year, but not every movie is supposed to.

Right, I don't like to get involved, especially since I'm not friends with anyone in this community, and more of a lurker, but when I see someone acting like an asshole, like you, and picking on someone for no reason, then I do say something. If you don't like the movie, fine, good for you. If Spider-Man does, fine, good for him. Don't laugh at his opinions because that's rude and immature. Just because you say something is bad doesn't make it a fact, an idea I don't think you seem to grasp.

Fine, the discussion is for Herbie, so if you're not going to post about the movie, then you don't post either. Dedicating an entire post to a laughing emoticon isn't a Herbie discussion.

Moving on, it's odd that the film spends time building up the mythos of Herbie during the opening credits yet no one even recognizes the car, same number and all.

I can't believe some of the talent behind Reno 911 and The State came up with this script. For shame.

I agree with loyal.

This is probably one of the worst films ever made. It's not even good by "kids movie" standards. The script is total garbage, the acting ranges from okay to Michael Keaton, and the soundtrack is possibly one of the worst ever assembled. The logical leaps this film takes in order to drive it's plot (the whole Max character) are quite simply astonishing. Every character surrounding Lohan would have to be mentally retarded for this film to work.

This is the last time I let me nephews drag me to a movie.

F or 0/10

Herbie: Fully Unneeded

Herbie is a surprisingly lazy film, which for a Disney remake is really saying something. Screenwriters Thomas Lennon, Ben Garant, Alfred Gough, and Miles Millar (4 screenwriters is never a good sign), and director Angela Robinson never attempt to make a coherent film. Do people know Herbie is alive? Are they worried about this? Who are these people?

This seems like an unfair criticism. Have you ever seen any of the original movies? You were obviously expecting WAAAAY too much from a kid's flick.

Why is it an unfair criticism?
