Re: Avengers: Infinity War *Spoiler Warning*
Movies release here on Thursday anyways but this is the first time I've seen a movie releasing here on a non-holiday Wednesday. And yes it will be a 5-day weekend.

Haha yeah, I hate Disney of course, but really enjoyed Infinity War. Maybe being more of a non-fan made it more enjoyable? I saw the Last Jedi (not in cinemas) and since I know nothing much about any backstory, didn't find it to be heresy. It's just not very good on its own, kinda like most of the SW films.

I give it an A-. i enjoyed it, although I can see why there is some people not happy about it, especially the ending. It helps that i read the comic since it followed it pretty much, although not sure how they will bring everyone back without Adam Warlock or beat Thanos without Dr. Doom or Dr. Strange for that matter .

Re: Avengers: Infinity War *Spoiler Warning*
AVENGERS INFINITY WAR
First, I was highly entertained by this Avengers film. We had AMAZING action. Almost jaw dropping fights all over the damn film. The comedy was just right. I liked the Guardians and their brand in, the Stark Spidey business, and some cracks in Wakanda. The emotion was felt though I shed no tears so maybe that could be the only real fault of the film is me not actually shedding a tear or getting teary eyed. Thanos was all he was built to be finally. A powerful force who really couldn't be challenged except by Quill, Stark and Strange together but of course Quill messed that up. The children of Thanos were awesome as well. I liked their powers, brute force, skills but I think they could have been better served with recognizable and more commanding voices in the roles. The surprise with the soul stone was a treat. I did get shocked when Thanos seemingly vaporized Drax. My favorite sequence in the film was the fight on Titan. I don't get the giving up the time gem unless Strange is playing some long game in that 1 in 14 million. I am perplexed how this is gonna be resolved in the followup. I will easily buy this on blu and watch this 2-3 more times.
Grade - A

Re: Avengers: Infinity War *Spoiler Warning*
I did like that aspect of the movie as well. There are hints but its not sure how this will be resolved or how will they bring back everyone. I do believe it has to do something with Strange but then again he gets vaporized. And even if you have read the comics its not clear because of what JMC said two posts above in spoiler tags. The final text message from Fury could also be the key but I feel that's just to call female Avengers group here. Also loved the entry of Thor in final fight, Cap's first scene and Stark's new suit. All these received claps at all three of my showings.

Re: Avengers: Infinity War *Spoiler Warning*
its possible they do an updated version of Superman The Movies ending where they somehow how get the time stone back, then it’s almost like edge of tomorrow but they realize that there is no way to save them all. And I’d venture Stark and Rodgers realize they have to die to make it work

Re: Avengers: Infinity War *Spoiler Warning*
Really enjoyed it, but I have no idea what general audiences will think of that ending. Really bleak stuff, but the more I think about it the more I love it. It was very well done and the stakes have never felt higher in any MCU film IMO. Josh Brolin really deserves props here for his performance as Thanos. Finally, a villain who manages to be terrifying and sympathetic all at the same time. Easily the best the MCU has given us so far.

Re: Avengers: Infinity War *Spoiler Warning*
Full Ranking something like this
Avengers: Infinity War Avengers Thor: Ragnarok Black Panther Ant Man Guardians of the Galaxy Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 Iron Man ----------------------------------- Dr. Strange Thor: The Dark World ----------------------------------- Avengers: Age of Ultron Captain America: Civil War Spider Man: Homecoming Captain America: The Winter Soldier Captain America Iron Man 3 Thor Incredible Hulk Iron Man 2
Honestly, they are all way too similar to really grade, so I'd say the top are enjoyable, the second are decent and the third are not very good.

Re: Avengers: Infinity War *Spoiler Warning*
"Villains"
1. Thanos 2. Loki (Avengers) 3. Killmonger 4. Hela 5. Ultron 6. SHIELD/Bucky
All Kinda Bad Aaron Cross Ego Ronan Civil War Bad Guy Malekeith Red Skull Mandarin SpiderMan Bad Guy Michael Keaton Doomamoo/Kaecillius Vanko Abomination/General Ross
I think probably only the top 3 are any good and Loki is more of the way Hiddleston played him.

My guess is that, in order for Thanos to be defeated, they needed him to think he'd already won, and he needed the time gem stone for that.

Re: Avengers: Infinity War *Spoiler Warning*
It's pretty good. Probably the best of the direct Avengers movies. It's way, way too long and I do feel that there are so many characters and storylines that it felt overwhelming at times. But the action sequences are pretty exciting and all the performances are really strong. Josh Brolin in particular was great and steals the entire movie. B

I feel a few more characters will bow out after the completion of Thanos arc some of these actors are getting too old to play superheroes.

Re: Avengers: Infinity War *Spoiler Warning*
The movie is one big climax and you really need to have watched some Marvel movies before you see this one (by that I don’t mean at some point I mean like the week of)
I agree with Sparrow. Good movie, but not top tier

Re: Avengers: Infinity War *Spoiler Warning*
The movie is good, but kind of a bummer. Not just because of the ending - because we never got to see the entire team faceThanos together. I was expecting that to be the reason Doc gave up the stone - they could only beat him as one. But nope, Thanos defeats both halves of the team and wins the movie quite decisively. Should have just called it Thanos: Infinity War. Also didn’t like Thor’s subplot, the last thing this movie needed was another new character, even Peter Dinklage. Cutting those ten minutes would have helped the weird pacing.
There’s a ton of great moments to make up for this though. Infinity War is hilarious anytime it turns into a Guardians movie. Batista is the real star. “He is not a dude, you are a dude - he is a man. A mix between a pirate and an angel.” Cap’s entrance gave me chills - was so freakin cool. And I definitely popped for the Red Skull. I knew he wasn’t dead!
There’s enough of this to keep Infinity War entertaning for the two amd a half hours. I just wish it was all built on a sturdier base. It’s really not that much different from Justice League. And that’s just not good enough considering JL was barely trying.

Re: Avengers: Infinity War *Spoiler Warning*
The overall story is collection of stones/boxes but IW CANNOT be compared to JL as the similarity end here. What were you expecting from whatever was presented from the trailers? Also I understand that you wanted the team to fight as a whole BUT that already happened in JL and didn't work out as well, adds another point of how different these movies were.

Oh and the Tony and Peter subplot was easily the most emotionally satisfying aspect of the movie

But the Justice League never teamed up to fight Darkseid like they should have. Steppenwolf is basically akin to the Black Order. And they attack Wakanda with what may as well be Parademons. I still liked the movie. It is just a dissapointment that we didn’t get anything close to a “payoff of 18 films” like was promised. All of that will come in part 2 I’m sure, but it was advertised for Part 1.
