Jeremy Jordan. On Broadway he was in Bonnie & Clyde (which is a whole lot of underrated) and Newsies. He was also a regular on Smash and is in the upcoming The Last Five Years.

Well, I've never seen Bonnie and Clyde, Newsies or Smash. If that makes me not a real musical theater fan in your eyes dude, whatever.

The problem with this movie is the way they go about it. Had an A effort been given, it could have been something. The first problem is how cheap it looks. The only set that looks imaginative or interesting in any way is the Giver's study. The rest of it looks like The Hunger Games lite. Brenton Thwaites leaves no impact here. The cast is okay with what they are given, but the film is too rushed for any of the characters or plotlines to be fleshed out effectively. The story is what saves the movie. Effective adaptation of the source material, but it could have been so much better.
