TRANSFORMERS

For some reason there were some very crappy trailers attached to my print of Trans. Such as chuck and larry, hot rod?, and another forgettable one but Super bad and Cloverfield were the big winners in the trailer dept. Super bad had the crowd cackling and cloverfield left the crowd thirsting for more. There was a deep sigh of "aww" "oohh" when that trailer ended.

Showing was a 0001 start time which was sold out along with the 2000 and 2200 previously. I came in 15 min before start and actually got a decent seat. Transformers was a decent flick that was enjoyable to watch yet did leave me feeling a bit "empty." Maybe I had too high of expectations but there are definitely more than a few scenes to be bothered with and the split between the stories of sam/bumblebee, govt/nsa/s7 business and army scenes was somewhat slapped together imo.

What I did like in the film were bumblebee, most of sam's scenes, the mini decepticon robot, the flashbacks, and the first encounter with all the autobots.

I did not like some scenes that just seemed pretty sappy especially with the soundtrack fluctuating in the background like when bumblebee is getting cryo'd and sam runs and bumps one of the guys to the ground, sam and the girl having a moment with the sun producing a glare in the background during the fighting, some somewhat cheesy sounding lines during the fighting in the final act and during the conclusion, the lack of information on the decepticons and autobots other than the extreme basic, the ease of how quickly some of the bots were dispatched and the lack of screentime for starscream and other decepticons.

I was left wondering what happened to starscream and the scorpicon. I'm still looking forward to a sequel of some sort. The audience I saw it with gave it a pretty healthy reaction at the end of the showing. Overall, I found it to be an enjoyable and entertaining flick but not overwhelming so or decently satisfying.

Grade - B

Incredible spectacle and a truckload of silliness that works surprisingly great thanks to the right blend of absurd humor and gravity during the action scenes. Shia really really carries the film - he and his father were the only actor with more than 5 minutes of screen time that wasn't either invisible (Josh & Tyrese) or awful (Jon Voight & Megan Fox, although she is a knockout.)

"Baby come back, any kind of fooL couLd see. There was something in everything about you..."

Being a sucker for SFX-packed action fiLms, I'd say this fiLm is a once-in-a-decade experience (unLess Transformers 2 comes out soon) when it comes to the visuaL FX. This just shows that studio execs. don't need a $250m production budget to show audiences satisfying visuaL and action sequences. IMO, it definiteLy deserves some Oscar wins for the technicaLs. When it comes to the performances, Shia LaBeouf's character just stands out. Every scene with him in it is fucking hiLarious especiaLLy the scene when he takes Megan Fox for a ride and when he reported his car is being stoLen. The robots had better acting I think, than the rest of the humans. The worst past IMO was the ending and by the Looks of it, there's absoLuteLy going to be a second fiLm.

A-, second best fiLm of the year so far.

 Funny as I was telling my friends that I thought she was hot except for the accent haha. I find it funny hearing an Aussie accent among American ones. Though Megan Fox is Mega Hot  I'd love me a Megan/Gez/Rachael sandwhich

C+ The action is good and so were the special/visual effects but evrything else is blah. And I'm a sucker for big visual effects films, I gues I just don't get cars that can tranform into robots that can talk.

This movie had some scenes after the credits and it showed Starscream flying off into space. As for the scorpion bot, it was actually a part of the chopper in the opening attack scene, maybe it found its way home???

So there I was, trying desperately to wipe my love stains off the seat in front of me, when it happened again. I skeeted all over my popcorn. Trying to pretend like nothing had happened, I set my popcorn aside, and hoped I could control myself. But Michael Bay would not let me be. The next one was a biggie, a monstrous stream that had to have alerted the ushers. I began to panic. I was also horrified to see that my friend had begun to munch on my popcorn, thinking nothing to be different except for the extra butter. I tried to plug the hole, but as anyone who has ever tried to cover their mouth while vomiting can attest, this only serves to spray it everywhere. The ushers, beginning to be afraid, called for their manager. I made a frantic effort to hold it in, but Transformers was relentless. I just could not help myself. The manager finally came up and told me I would have to leave, since I was masturbating all over the other customers. But then I explained, masturbation is only if you are doing it to yourself.

The movie did it to me. Transformers fellated me. It tongued my butthole. It donkey punched me and dirty sanchezed me. It gave me a blumpkin while I shit out the turd that was Spider-Man 3. Transformers fucked me sideways, then turned me the other way and fucked me sideways again...but from the other side.

There was a guy behind me who kept saying, "Yes! Yes! Oh God! Yes!" the whole movie, clearly getting divine enlightenment from the whole thing. I, myself an atheist, was having the closest thing to a religious experience I have ever had in my life.

This is the first movie I've ever had to have a smoke after. And by a smoke I mean I had to smoke some fucking crack, because that is what Michael Bay was clearly on when he put this action sextravaganza together. I stopped counting how many action scenes there were because the whole movie is one, just robots transforming and beating the crap out of each other. I had a big stupid grin on my face the whole movie and I could see it on everyone else too. I knew from the opening scene (when one nasty Decepticon wastes an entire military base) that Transformers was gonna deliver in every way.

When fucking Megatron finally arrives on the scene, and you hear Hugo Weaving's heavily edited voice coming from that mechanical beast, you'll be crapping pancakes. And skeeting.

Transformers is such a stunning success because the special effects have gotten to the point of immersion. I was thinking "Holy shit those are actual giant robots duking it out in the streets!" not "Goddamn those effects are neat".

I haven't had this much fun at the movies in a long, long time. Thank you Michael Bay. I'll sleep well tonight. After I skeet again
.

Optimus Fucking Prime!!

best scene = ramming that sword up Bonecrusher. A joint orgasm was conducted through the entire screening by everyone during that scene.

horribly executed script but what was a kick ass film.

Oh and even with a bad script, I'm glad the series took the wa of Beast Wars and introduced the Allspark. Sadly, they didn't do much with it.

Bring on Transformers and SodaMachineBot!!

btw, what happens to Starscream is shown about 45 seconds into the credit.

My question is, what the hell happened to Barricade (police car)

I think Barricade got his butt kicked by Bumblebee early on.

I believe I just missed the Starscream cut cuz they showed two clips of the parents during the credits first then I decided to leave. Darn.

Also, what is the name of the mini decepticon robot?

** I just heard two female reviews on the radio, one from a promo person who's really into films and she thought it was one of the best she's seen and this other average female caller said she'd pay full price to see it again. Interesting. **

Best visual in the whole film was during Bumblebee's first fight with the Police car robot...the police car transformed while coming through the smoke, chasing bumbleee....that one second alone got an applause at my showing.

The scene with his parents in his room when he's trying to recover the glasses is hilarious.

Yeah, loved that scene

Well...that was impressive...most impressive.
It was as good as I was hoping for, and beyond.
Best movie I've seen in a long while...it'll go on my 'top-5 all-time' list for sure.

I wanted to buy another ticket and go right back for more, but another viewing tomorrow morning will have to suffice...and more likely than not, again this weekend.

Bring on TF2!!!

No. I don't want a sequel. No way they can top this.

Look at JP2 and Jaws 2 and you'll realize why there should be no sequel.

Em, there'll be at least two or three follow-ups to this film...

You can't compare TF to JP and Jaws.
Transformers is mindless entertainment...those two are masterpieces.
TF sequels are definitely okay by me.

God damn brilliant movie. I enjoyed every minute of it. That Camaro was gorgeous as was Megan Fox. Shia Labeouf surprised me and I now have the feeling we will be seeing a lot more of him in the future. Action scenes are amazing.

A+

One other thing...I thought Megan Fox actually did a good job...definitely better than some people are saying.
She was more than just super hot.

Shia is the real deal...he carried every scene he was in.

I can't believe Shia is probably going to be a big star. Feels surreal.

I still remember him from Even Stevens. Thought that'd be his biggest break.

Oddly enough, I saw a few episodes of Even Stevens before he was in any movies and figured he was destined for more.

I still love Holes, as well.

Stop thinking with your pants :nonono:

I hate the fact I have to wait 3 weeks for this, the brother has told me punching and pain will ensue if I download so waiting is the only choice.

Poor "Lucky Rolls" Gulli. It's worth the wait, however, if you have a big monitor to project it on and it's good quality. Why not...

Also, it appears that a majority of critic and user reviews favor Shia's performance. He also worked out 5 days a week for 3 months and packed on 25lbs of muscle for the film until he determined the role required more agility vs strength. Woo.

Woo. Love the FAKE F some dunce gave it. Reserve F's for truly horrific nonsense like Wolf Crap and the Number 23.

It's barely been 24hrs since seeing TF and I'm itching to kind of see it again even though I wasn't blown away by it. Peer pressure or Transformers pressure?
