One more thing...

Okay like 30 minutes of this movie is Brom/Eragon's trek to get to the rebels, but why doesn't the dragon just FLY HIM THE FUCK THERE. Oh yeah, because he's a Dragon Rider that doesn't take up riding again til almost the end of the journey? This isn't like Lord of the Rings where the Eagles wouldn't take them because it wasn't their thing and the ring is evil, etc.

And really... what is the difference whether or not Eragon or the Dragon dies? The goal is extermination... killing the Dragon would pretty much nip that in the bud.

Okay so then there was this part where Eragon has dreams of the chick and is like "I'm going to go get her" and forces the dragon to take him. Okay, stupid, even for this film, but okay. But this is theoretically really far away from their previous location... how the FUCK does Brom show up like 20 minutes after Eragon gets there? Did the dragon have that much time to get back in and get him??? I thought Eragon was the only "rider".

Ugh, it boggles the mind.

^^^^Saphira isnt fully grown yet, she is still basically a baby the entire movie/book. So she can't fly with additional weight for long distances (The Battle at the End with Eragon on Saphira never happened). All the Rider's were killed, just like the Jedi from Star Wars. A Rider turned bad (Anakin/Vader) gets rid of them all. 3 eggs survived, the blue one was stolen (Saphira), Eragon gets it and becomes the first Rider in X years. I read the book if you couldnt tell.

Strays too far from the book.

Poor script, unimpressive CGI, and some LaughabLe viLLains. The onLy thing worth watching for me was the fuckin' AvriL Lavigne soundtrack.

not 100% terrible, but easily the worst of the big-budget CGI-led fantasy flicks.

Have you ever wondered what Star Wars would be like with lame C-list actors, fake CGI and dragons? No? Me neither.

Wow.

Fangmeier had his directorial debut here, and you can tell. Visually, it's not bad at all. The effects of Saphira were quite stunning, and much of the camerawork showing off the flying was cool. Jeremy Irons looked like he was having fun, so I enjoyed a few of his scenes. However, overall everything was painful. The rest of the performances were so bland. Malkovich especially seems bored throughout. At least with the kid playing Eragon it looked like he was trying, just failing. The same can't be said for him. It felt like the first Potter movie, providing a cliffnotes version of the plot without telling much story or maintaining the things that made the original book such a hit in the first place.

outside Ford and Guiness, that was a cast of purely C-listers. There's a reason why Mark Hamill followed up the most successful trilogy in the history of film with nothing.

This film completes the 3 B's. It's extremely bland, boring and well... bad. The dragon is reasonably good but otherwise this is one of the films that ran the fantasy genre into the ground post LOTR.

Not true, I still maintain he's the best Joker, and then there's his great voice work in Studio Ghibli films such as...

wait, who am I talking to, when's the last time Billybob bothered with anyone from here?
