What a treat. Bordering on being absurd, but just good enough to be entertaining as hell. Certainly the most fun I've had watching a movie since SAW II.

Man, this horror flick was a real treat! It was a nice throwback to the campy horror á la Tremors and unlike, say, Eight Legged Freaks it actually almost completely succeeded. It still doesn't have the great charme of Tremors anmd it does lack the memorable characters, but it is at least just as much pure fun. I agree with makeshift, the climax is lifted directly from Society, but it's still fun. Rooker did a good job on his role. What also distinguishes it from Eight Legged Freaks, is that it actually aimed for the R-rating so you get a real gore galore here. The movie is fast-paced, funny, bloody and even suspenseful at times. It could have been funnier and more absurd, but I was overall very satisfied. Too bad it didn't perform well at the box-office (though I can easily see why), I would have liked to see a sequel. The nods to different other horror films are great and the movie..well...not sure how to describe it...it takes itself seriously, while making fun of the genre at the same time. I know, doesn't make much sense, but this awkward combination definitely works!

The years best B-movie, yes better then Snakes. Bits of it reminded me of that screwed up 80s body horror movie "Society". The humour was sharp and witty thruout as well.

I love these types of movies. That's why I was shocked last weekend to find one of the most acclaimed of them all to be so disappointing. Had its moments once it got going, but the first half hour was the most boring load of crap I've seen in a film in years. Actually that's not true, the first half hour was no more boring than the entirety of Underworld: Evolution, but about the same. I don't grade films any more, but while I was mostly enjoying it by the end I'd still hesistate to give it a thumbs up.

Well, well... unlike most films in this genre (Feast, Eight Legged Freaks), this was actually pretty great. Great fun after the first 15 minutes or so, lots of gore (one of the best people-splitting-in-half scenes in recent memory), and most of the time, it's hilarious.

Color me somewhat dissapointed, it was dissapointingly suspense-free and the script was pretty weak. There were a few too many times when the reaction shot was just someone swearing, and the ranch family was sort of lazily put in. Still, it definately had it's fair share of gruesomeness, and the humor that did work was great. B-

Starts off slow and oddly paced, but soon rights itself and becomes a wholly entertaining ride. The opening twenty minutes or so take time setting up the story, and some of it could be cut, but once the story focuses on Bill the movie becomes much better. The story is a mix of Invasion of the Body Snatchers and Night of the Living Dead, and it works well, and the dialogue is frequently witty and hilarious. Some good performances, especially by Fillion as the likable lead and the mayor, and some truly gruesome makeup effects. Lots of fun, if a bit over-the-top.

I hate horror/comedies but this was was pretty well done and actually funny. Rather dumb but highly entertaining without being annoying.

Good to see more believers boarding the good ship Slither, now more than a year after it's launching...

 Re: Slither (2006)
James Gunn still hasn't returned to do the sequel, and now he's wasting time on some Marvel project...
