Serviceable action movie that undid most of the fun of the first Terminator by turning him into a hero, when the appeal of Terminator was scariest villain of all time.

Also loses points for the unbelievably annoying kid.
T-1000 is far scarier.

Too bad he ended up being the hero not the villain.

Nm when you said T-1000 I thought you meant the T2 version of Arnie's terminator. You meant Robert Patrick. It's been a while since I've seen these. Eh Patrick did a good job with what he was given, but he underneath it all looked like too nice a guy to be very scary.

I thought he looked very menacing, far more than Arnie in T1.

The thing about Arnie is that he just looked like he was from another planet. You have to realize that the average movie goer didn't know Arnold when Terminator first came out, so he seemed exotic and menacing. He wasn't the good ole Arnie that kids know today. (Jingle all the way!). He was just this gigantic mostly unknown actor with a foreign accent. Patrick looks like he was born to play Lee Harvey Oswald.
Anyway both movies are a rip off of the 70s hit Westworld (not to say Westworld was better though, it is very dated)

Well, Arnie starred in both Conan films before it...

Just because it was discussed befeore, here are my grades for Cameron's films (I agree that this and Aliens are better than Titanic).

The weakest of the series, but not by much, and it certainly had the best FX...

The middle chapter of one of the best franchises ever created.
A+
Arnie and Cameron in their primes and just were great to watch. This was the biggest film WW of all time when released, hard to believe. Its a film that deserved everything it got.

I echo your sentiments about this.. This truly was one of the best sequels ever with a great soundtrack to boot in the form of Guns & Roses..

Re: Terminator 2: Judgment Day
having rewatched T2 as I worked on this, it has turned into one of my all-time favorite action movies. The brilliance of the gimmick allows it to walk the perfect line between action and comedy yet still be taken seriously. Schwarzenegger's style has never worked nearly as well as it did here. Cameron's best work yet.

Re: Terminator 2: Judgment Day
I'm always in two minds as to whether this one is better of the original is. I love The Terminator, and I appreciate its brutality, but T2 is one of the greatest action movies ever made, it has style and a score that blends perfectly with its visuals. So hard to decide.
1. The Terminator/Terminator 2: Judgement Day 3. Terminator Salvation 4. Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines

Re: Terminator 2: Judgment Day
I saw this as a kid. I considered it the best movie ever made for a long time. And I still find it really good.
