Terrible movie. Only a little redeeming value, but overall bored me to death. D.

Oh, right, he didn't give it a 6 out of 5.

(It's not like it's a Peter Jackson movie, where you ringnuts can decide you love it months before seeing it, ya know...)

Zingaling, you will be coming to me in 20 years, begging my forgiveness for misjudging this sci-fi classic...

Bradley's reply was before Zingaling's, but when Zing quoted him and typed his reply, Bradley deleted his and re-posted it with some stuff added to it. However, Zing submitted his reply before Bradley re-submitted his.

Not as much fun as my earlier explanation, and also not quite true. Zingaling must have quoted my post, before I deleted it, and then he posted his response before I reposted my revised version. I didn't see Zingaling's post till afterwards...

That's what I meant. If Zing posted his before, you wouldn't have been able to delete your initial post.

bump..
wow.. I was surprised by this?
I won't go as far as bradley or even Cleric, but it's pretty decent...?
From the other thread (yes, I'm quoting myself now):
android wrote: Aeon Flux - an American masterpiece? no , but it doesn't suck at all.. really And it's actually faithful to the show, which was incredibly bizarre and esoteric too from the couple of episodes I've seen (and which is being kind of mistaken for incoherent in here...) oh, and compared to Catwoman, the camera is VERY still C+
but I agree that this has the potential to be a cult movie a few years from now.. just like the tv show..

I expected the worst ala Elektra after all those really bad reviews but I enjoyed it a lot. Charlize was good in the lead and great to look at. B

I know I'm going to get crucified for this, but I actually enjoyed this movie more than I could have ever imagined. I never bought into the "deeper" aspects of the film and their intentions, but I thought it was really a fun sci-fi action ride and Charlize Theron was perfectly cast in the lead role. I never felt bored and enjoyed all the film's action. I admit that some things were a bit ridiculous (like Frances McDormand's appearances), but the style of the film is very innovative and it is a great visual eye candy. Certainly, some CGI is rather visible, but overall, it is really a nice view and an entertaining flick as well. The bad guys are bland and a lot of the movie is very clichéd, but it really entertained me every minute.

Aha! Finally some reasonable reviews of this excellent movie.
I will live to see the day this movie gets it's due respect.

I agree actually. It was fairly entertaining, and while I thought the action was weak, the film was generally interesting.

Maybe I was just desperate for entertainment on a flight from Osaka to Germany, but I didn't think this was that bad. At least Charlize Theron looked believable in her action scenes unlike Halle Berry in, well, everything. It could have been a lot better, but I've seen a lot worse. My grade: C.

Nope, lol. I was in Frankfurt in March. Remember the snow storm around the first of the month? I was stranded in the airport when my flight to Ukraine was cancelled. Oh, and Lufthansa lost my luggage for 8 DAYS!

Well, British Airways lost mine last year for three days. And the snow storm didn't occur where I live thankfully, but I remember hearing about that, heh. What are you doing in Ukraine?

I'm back in Japan now. I was there teaching in a college for a week.
Anyway, I guess I should say something about the movie. Frances McDormand was really wasted in a small part in this movie.

Ugh. Boring, unoriginal and there's nothing about it that is memorable or worthwhile. What the hell is wrong with actors like Charlize Theron? I rented the DVD on Netflix and will review the DVD -- including the Theron commentary -- so it should be interesting to see why she liked this script... D+

A brainless but visually impressive film that will appeal to those who have a weak spot for dystopian sci-fi, like me.
