Does anyone think I'll enjoy this? I think it looks really good but the first was disappointing to me. I gave it a 7/10 (B-) mainly because I LOVED the ending.

I think you'll come out of it at least feeling that you got your money's worth and it wasn't a waste of your time. It's a very quick hour and a half. It keeps your attention throughout. It's gut wrenching and thrilling from start to finish. Better than the first because it doesn't have the lame flaws. I think you'd at least give it a B.

Gives Doom a run for its money as the worst movie of the year. The Twist is pathetic. The whole movie is gory and pitiful. For Donnie Wahlberg, Saw II is a huge fall from "Boomtown". Acting in this movie is as bad as I have seen in a while.

I'm sorry but the whole "ACTING" kick in B Horror movies and everyone concerned about the goddamn acting is laughable as it gets.. You want great acting?? You want even good acting?? Go rent The USUAL SUSPECTS or a movie noteworthy for it's acting, not a B Grade Horror movie folks.. Acting is N/A in movies like this.. People use the whole acting kick in movies like this to give them a reason to put it down cause they know deep down these movies aren't best known for the ACTING.. It's like watching the Friday the 13th movies from the 80's and expecting great acting from a cast of unknowns like that.. Just stop with the acting critiques in movies like this already folks.. You know it isn't going to be all that good anyway.. Your there for SHOCK VALUE and this movie delivered an "A+" on that in every aspect..

Agree. He also complained about it being gory. It's a horror movie for godsakes! What do you expect?

If you've seen Saw, you'll appreciate the acting in Saw II. Not that good acting is something you should expect in films like these, but if you want bring acting into it, watch the original. At least the cast in Saw II gave believable performances.

Obviously English is not your strong suit. The movie being gory is a statement of fact and not a complaint. The movie being pitiful is the complaint. If garbage pleases you, eat it. Do not preseme to tell me it tastes like steak.

Well i was entertained by Saw II. Nothing spectacular amd the twist was more obvious than the original (but at least more feasable). Overall Gory fun :)

Loved it. Wasn't as good as the original, but I wasn't expecting it to be. I don't think anybody was expecting it. I don't know why people complain about the ending to the first one, I thought it was genius. This one just builds on that. SPOILERS COMING. The death mask was a great way to start the film. The characters were all rather good. Except for those who didn't make it so long. I was curious about Oby and what his story was. But the oven made sure that didn't happen. Brutal way to die. The syringes were another cringe worthy part. Xavier was kind of annoying, but he was supposed to be. We didn't want him to survive. Loved the twist, but why did they have to kill John. They could've kept him around for at least one more. Guess Amanda will have to carry it on her own. Can't wait to see how she does next Halloween. A-. Top ten of the year.

Spoilers (highlight to read)

Was anyone just really annoyed at how stupid Xaviar was in the film? I was ready to kill him myself. Right near the beginning, he opens the door with the key, when the message says, "don't open the door with this key." And, who doesn't have the common sense to realize they can't see their number?

I'm sorry I spoiled it for you. I'll tag it.

Mods: for future reference, do I need to tag spoilers?

This forum is for spoilers. Anything goes. Right under "Everyone's a Critic" at the forum index, it says:

* Spoilers * This is the place to give us YOUR reviews on the movies you have seen. Discussion of movies is welcomed, but please do not comment if you have not previously seen the movie! Spoilers are ALLOWED inside. * Spoilers *

Yes that was my main grip during the stupid Wedding Crashers discussion. Glad some people finally came to there senses and rewrote the above. I for one just stay out of this section if I want to see a movie without spoilers. What else would you do in here but write about details from the movie.

I kind of wish that they didn't end it showing Amanda to the detective or even have her come in and talk to him with a mask on.

That would have made a better set up for Saw 3 if the detective didn't know who was holding him.

I actually thought the thing that was going to happen was have the whole Swat team held captured for #3 > the detective, the girl, the black cop, etc.

********************

Also, is the Zigsaw guy dead or is he still alive hanging on for #3.

Also, I liked the one flashback scene - All you have to do is sit here and talk and then you will get your son back > that was a good line.

Spoilers

He's dead. I guess he sensed his time was coming to an end (hence all the discussion about 'knowing when he was going to die'). Amanda is taking over for him. It should be very interesting to see.

Yes, I know he said he was dying but I wasn't sure whether he was dead or alive in the van.

Guess he died so now he won't be in #3.

Spoilers....Sorta

Do we really know he is dead??? I mean yeah he was beat the hell up for the last 30 minutes, but he was still alive towards the end. He could still be in the next for maybe a short time. If he is really totaly gone from the next, I don't think it will do as well. Just my thoughts.

That's kindof what I thought but others disagree.

It sure sounded like a complaint, or else why mention it in your review because doing so would be rather pointless? It's pretty much a given, just look at the rating and the reasons why it's rated as such

And English must not be your strong suit because you cannot spell "presume." Also, ever heard of difference of opinion? You should try looking it up. I was just stating my opinion with your statement, no need to get all high and mighty.

You sure sounded like a moron with your comment for continuing to argue about that, so I had to reply.

Further, do not "presume" to tell me not to come off my high horse as if you know me. Do you pay for my movies? Stay the fuck away from giving me your opinion, as if I asked for it.

As for having a opinion, I did not comment on your love for this movie, even after you decided to stick your nose into my review. If you like what I consider garbage, how is it my concern? I could not care any less if you love it.

Unlike some on this board, I do not comment on somebody else's reviews or interests unless people are posting outright lies. People can spend their money any way they feel like. Do you see a single post from me mocking anybody else's reviews though I considered SAW II atrocious? So do the right thing and do not bother to reply to my reviews either.

Discussing someone else's review does not entail misinterpreting a part of the review even after being mentioned otherwise.

I haven't seen Saw, but I saw Saw II yesterday and loved it! Well, maybe "loved" is not the correct word for this brutal torture mystery - perhaps "respected" it. Very well structured story, that got me up to speed on the Saw universe, without spoiling the intensity. Though admittedly I'm not a fan of the genre, this is so much better than any recent horror movies I've seen in a long time. Perhaps because it doesn't quite fit into the horror genre, but is actually a better fit for the mindf%ck sub-genre (eg: The Cell, Butterfly Effect).

This is a very good movie.

5 out of 5.

You may have liked it even more if you would have seen the first before you saw this one. The more I think about the ending to the second one, the more I like it(not that I didn't like it before).
