The biblical over tones in this movie makes one think of getting right with God.

I sound ignorant? Grow up and have your own opinion instead of trying to cater to please someone.
That's the only thing you ever do, find the middle road and stay there. My, you're certainly interesting.

His problem is that he can't understand why Cage character is coincidentally there.
Why does that even matter? That's the most idiotic problem I've ever heard in my life.
We might as well ask why were Jack and Rose on the Titanic? Couldn't we have focused on some random crew member?
Sheesh. How can you make a movie without having any characters in it?
So if we don't have Cage figuring it out, what are you watching? The world being destroyed?
It's coincidence but that happens all the time because it's a bloody storytelling device.
Romantic comedies wouldn't exist without coincidence.
Fantasy wouldn't exist without coincidence.
Really, now.

BK you're the one that can never say anything without just sounding like a cynical jerk who has to take out his personal qualms on the world. I'm sorry mommy didn't love you but it doesn't mean you have to go around here saying that 400m is a bad gross for TF2, it should have made 500m, and that every movie ever sucks because of a slight problem. Go back to loving michael bay, its where you belong.
Also, middle of the road? Who am I trying to please? I'll admit that I do sometimes shave my answers slightly to make loyal and yoshue love me, but I certainly don't change my opinion for anyone. I still insist that American Beauty is one of the best things I've ever seen and that Citizen Kane was good at best. And half the people here, especially the aforementioned think I'm a half-wit for saying so.

Personal qualms? Taking potshots now? It's laughable you are using the "mommy" insult.
That's the best you can come up with? Or maybe you think that'll affect me the most, either way it doesn't and it just showcases your extreme bigotry.
I'm being realistic not a cynical jerk. When I say Potter needs 300m, it fucking needs 300m. It's not as if inflation cannot be taken into account. And your Michael Bay insult is another pathetic response. So, I like his films, so what?
It's now wrong to do so? It's wrong to enjoy yourself? Cynical jerk, who?
Lastly, I really couldn't care about your proof that you don't do it all the time but sometimes. The fact you do it sometimes makes it true already. But, go ahead. This is pointless anyway since I couldn't really give a shit across the Internet.
:funny:

It was preposterous and occasionally hilarious (unintentionally), but I have to give it one thing, it was pretty unpredictable, and definetely not afraid to go way beyond what one normally expects from a film like this. I enjoyed it overall, Cage wasn't that bad.

Jeff and John Savage should be hanging from the ceiling.

Anyway, this film is ridiculously stupid, aesthetically boring and cheap. However, I was drawn to the plot and was an enjoyable ride.

PS if you are going to go after coincidences, why don't you go after the stupider ones. because if you go for the bigger ones, what's the point of the movie. ie when they go up to a fence and somehow have bolt cutters on them.

4/10 -> D

The idea is really good. The execution not so much.

First of all the movie is endless. I haven't seen "longer" two hour movie ever I believe. The general atmosphere is good (and I was really unease with those stalkers before they turned out to be alien angels). It's hilarious and fascinating at the same time.

The ending is all kinds of absurd and makes the story of the movie completely unnecessary. If the list and the deciphering of it had no effect whatsoever on the predicted events, why bother with showing us anything? It's not like Nic brought the kids to the extraction point. The aliens kidnapped them to save them. They would do the same if the list was never there. It would be better if the whispers actually meant something or had a bigger effect than just finding the chosen ones.

There's a good story and a movie that goes with it in here somewhere. Hopefully this idea is recycled in a better way one day.

A sufficiently decent first 45 minutes get wrecked by another hour that becomes increasingly more preposterous and less interesting as it goes along.
