 Re: Drive
I finally saw this a few months ago and loved it. Loved the soundtrack. I liked all of the acting, but Albert Brooks really stood out in my opinion. Totally nailed the gangster/trying to get legit/blows up in face.. character.

 Re: Drive
It's strange, but this movie actually grew on me through repeat viewings. When I first saw it I remember only thinking it was good, but not great. Now that I think about it I believe it would have atleast been in my top 5 of 2011.
I don't love it per se, but it is a very admirable piece of filmmaking with fantastic performances all around and an interesting soundtrack.

**** / ***** (B)
I would just slightly lower my grade for this one. It's still a good movie, but it definitely didn't feel as great this time. More precisely I was a bit bothered by how fast the love between the Driver and Irene happened. It was nearly blink and you'll miss it moment. And despite her being married, he still does everything he can to save her. I went and checked if the book was the same. In it she was divorced and Standard was in her apartment just because he didn't have a place to go. I don't know why they unnecessarily complicated the relationships between these characters, but it did feel weird this time around.
The rest of the movie is as exhilarating just as the first time. The action is sparse yet very brutal when it happens. Driver is probably one of the coolest antiheroes we've ever had on screen.
