Woooo! Coolest movie since Kill Bill! :D

Movies like this prove that you can take a lemon (the hostage movie genre) and make sweet, sweet, delicious lemonade! Loved the soundtrack, the acting, and the script. The twists in the movie are a little far-fetched, but they don't come across as contrived or as cheap ploys to sucker the audience.

Very satisfying indeed.

An excellent film, one of the best this year.

Great preformances from every cast member, and the end is awsome

Owen, Washington, and Foster are three of my favorite actors, so I really liked it. Nice to see Foster in a different role for her. Fun movie. A-.

Post Re: Inside Man
I watched this recently for the first time since the cinema 17 years ago. I wasn't sure on it back then although I came out leaning positive, but now I feel it is a pretty effective thriller. It is unique in its approach, and that has to be down to Lee. Never has there been a more hit-and-miss director, but here he hits well. Denzel is on-form, back when he was killing it in every role. This is Denzel's prime. Nowadays he's still good but I just sense a certain tapering off in his performances (The Equalizer 2 is a good example). Inside Man is quite a cool film and has a neat and simple twist, but that's not what the film is really about. For one, as this was before the time when the industry pushed positive racism in our faces, I didn't get the impression Spike was being overly antagonistic, which made me appreciate and enjoy the film a lot more than his more recent ones. I like the film's style and how it's mainly about the psyche of two sides of the negotiation. Who does what and when, who moves first, etc.

I'd wanted to revisit this for such a long time. Another that I feel I might think similarly about is Safe House, another Denzel film. Again, I leant positive at the cinema but don't remember it too well.

I think it's funny how Foster is hardly in the movie but gets joint top billing along with Denzel and Clive. Oh, and props to whoever put the hindi music opening. Fantastic choice. So laidback and just provides a relaxed foundation for the film to start (mirroring Clive Owen's character's demeanour).

This been on my list to rewatch for a while, I finally got to it today and didn't remember it to be this great. Wow, I got pretty blown away by the story, the cast, the music, the cinematography. It's a super strong film in all aspects and it surprised me actually, because though I liked some of Spike Lee's films before, I didn't keep him in that high regard, and frankly didn't realize he made a masterpiece with Inside Man.
It's a really slick bank heist / hostage / negotiator film, where I didn't see the turns coming (except that the killed hostage, wasn't actually k'd). Once we found out what was in the safe, it took a bit of an edge out of the tension and I wouldn't have minded if they're able to keep that till later in the film.
It's really nice to see this cast together, Owen was just so cool in the mid 2000's, Denzel is cooking, nice contributions from Foster, Dafoe and Plummer and the small parts like James Ransone's are good too. It's a great script with its links to Nazi history and the execution is even more excellent. Love it.
