So, you think it's on par with...say...Jaws?

Pick a film Anderson. The movie starts out for the first half as a bascally cliche "hey there's some random phenomenon/incredible event that shouldn't happen and we'll go check it out before things go horribly wrong" scenario for a semi-horror. But then it ditches all of that...everything it had established, and just went full-on AVP. And that's what the movie is titled, yes, but why the unneccessary first 50 minutes? They totally mismatched the AVP fight....it took dozens of Alieans to take down a small handful of PRedators? What?! Seriously! I mean, I might be slightly bias towards the Alien franchise, but I'm pretty sure a single alien and a single predator could take eachother on fairly well. The action sucked. It was edited down to PG-13, and it SHOWS. HORRIBLY. Gimme something to work with here. If you're going to go all-out action for the second half....GO ALL OUT ACTION! None of this conservative Hollywood shit.

Anderson had a good concept. A small group of humans stuck between a battle of far more advanced and fierce warriors...that could have played out incredibly well. And even his dialogue wasn't *too* bad. But the structure of the story, and the directing itself was just bad (just a tip Paul...everytime an Alien moes it's tail, that doesn't require a "whip" sound...).

It would've been soooooo much better if they didn't focus on the human story so much, just let the aliens and the predators rip each other apart. And the plot was stupid, it wasn't alien vs predator, it was predators created aliens and kill them for games.

I'd give JAWS an "A", So YES.. AVP was Awesome, but don't talk to me about the Sequel.. I will have no involvement of any Hype whatsoever for that tripe..

So, wait, wait...you give Jaws an A, but AVP an A+.

Thus you consider AVP better than Jaws, right?

An "A"s an "A" whether it's an "A+" or not.. We don't have the option for an "A+" only an "A".. Both are Classics..

So, basically, you are putting AVP on the same pedestral as Jaws and the old Star Wars movies...c'mon!

In terms of what it set out to do, YES, It's every bit as Entertaining as JAWS and STAR WARS.. You wanted a "VS" movie that pitted 2 of Cinema's Iconic Monsters?? Well "The Man" Delivered... If you expected anything more than that, then that's your fault..

Some nice action scenes and nice visuals.....but the rest is pretty forgetable.
Well maybe we get an improvment for part Two. The first one had some moments but it is not good.

You know what? It's a shame that Alien vs. Predator was badly received, because we need more Versus movies.

In fact, I had an idea for one. Terrorists vs. T-Rex. Thanks to AVP's lukewarm reception, chances are it'll never get made.

Basically, it was a film about Islamic extremists being pitted against a tyrannosaurus. How cool would that have been?

Watching Alien vs. Predator is like preparing to eat a delicious banquet of a meal to the point of your mouth watering, only when you get to the banquet, all you find is a moldy sandwich. And not just any sandwich. This sandwich is the physical manifestation of Cancer and AIDS put together. Oh, and the sandwich rapes you too.

Something lower than an F, like a Z or a -7 or something.
