It's a stupid comedy, but I actually thought it was funnier than most of the comedies this year (which I guess isn't too hard, but still...). Decent flick. B-

This movie was horribly inept, yet I found some enjoyment in parts of it. However, Steve Martin didn't do a great job, and they tried way too hard for laughs. At times, the slapstick was a bit over-the-top. I hope they don't do another "update" of this franchise, and that Steve Martin will just abandon this cheap crap and do more movies like Shopgirl.

This is a movie that should have never been made. You're just not going to equal the original cast no matter what you do. Peter Sellers is Inspector Clouseau, and he seemed natural in the role... the comedy came effortlessly. On the other hand, Steve Martin looks like he's trying way too hard to be funny.
The plot is paper thin, the jokes are very low brow, and I'm not even sure why Beyonce is in this movie. There were a few mildly amusing moments, but that does not make a movie. My grade: D

dreadful rethread of the original's, and Beyonce can't act to save her life.

I'll agree that Beyonce can't act, but I liked the movie. Even though I never saw the originals in their entirety, I don't think that can stop me from saying that the remake is a decent comedy.
Grade: B
