Didn't love it and didn't hate it. It was enjoyable though and Diane Lane was great.

Wow, I'm agreeing with Thompson a lot lately  Very overrated flick, it could've been a lot better.

Diane Lane makes / saves this movie.
If you like her, then definitely see it.

How exactly is this overrated, it's not like it is regarded as some masterpiece and won 10 Oscars or something...
Anyway, I loved it. The scenery was breathtaking, and Diane Lane was great. A-

I might try to get this in before I go to bed. If not, definitely tomorrow. I hope I'm one of those who enjoys it.

Under the Tuscan Sun is the very definition of a "chick flick", so it wouldn't surprise me if every girl here really liked it. I would consider it underrated, myself, as it seems like a movie that should have gotten much more Oscar attention than it did. The performances were all great, especially Diane Lane's. I've had a little thing for her since we were both younger, as she was always that unattainable older woman. We were seperated by about as many years as a freshman and a senior would be, and she was very much that kind of crush for me.
The script was very well written, and the scenery was truely beautiful. Almost makes me want to pack it in and move to Tuscany, even though I really hate bugs. :yikes: I guess it's harder for the guys to relate to this type of female central film, but even so, I think it's easy enough to appreciate how well made it is from all aspects. I didn't find it boring at all. It wasn't an adrenaline rush like the latest guy flick action fest, but there is more to movies than just how big the explosions are, and sometimes, it's cool to watch a film like this that slows down and examines real life, even when it's real life stuff that most of us take for granted. I think Under the Tuscan Sun pulls this off well.

Yes, I thought it was better. I'll have to watch Eternal Sunshine again, because the first viewing just didn't wow me.

The only problem I had with the movie is it was a little slow for me at times. But great, charming performance from Diane Labe, beautiful scenery, well directed and surprisingly fresh.

It was OK. I was mildly dissapointed considering it had such a beautiful location to work with, if it was set anywhere else it would be a C+, but tuscany raises it to a weak B
I loved the glamourous dolce character in the small town and it lagged alot in concern to its romance.

It's quite a plain movie with a simple story. What elevates it above average is the great performance by Diane Lane (she's been on quite a roll in the past 3-4 years, eh? The story was predictable, but some parts were pretty funny.
