I liked this movie. It was very funny and had good buddy comedy and a decent story. I loved McLovin's character and Cera's character. I wasn't so excited about the fat boy but he was okay. He was the most annoying of the main characters. It kind of felt like an America Pie for the 2000s and I can see them doing a Bad 2 and Bad 3 in the near future. I wasn't so excited about the two cops. Yes, there were funny at times but it was becoming ridiculous how they were acting. We know it's ficition but do we have to take the film out of reality 100%? That and the fat boy were my only two gripes otherwise it was a pretty fun movie.

Thank you, Superbad, for providing the world with the phrase "fuck my life." I say this so often.

Well, that's where I (and most people, I'm pretty sure) first heard it.

Superbad
Another good Jonah Hill comedy, much the same as The Sitter and Knocked Up. The first half is much better than the OTT second half -- the stupid cops and the actual party with the attempts at getting girls was not that good. The ending with the friendship-sleeping bag hug and the escalator goodbye was a bit off key for the tone of the film.
Seth's drawings of penises were funny, and all the first half stuff in fact. Seth Rogen wasn't funny at all. Michael Cera is some sort of comedy genius in his own way. I thought he was fantastic. Jonah Hill is standard. Overall it's just a good high school comedy, with some very true themes, but it's not the definitive film of the genre, and I wish some of the themes were explored beyond the usual and generic 'let's get drunk and fuck girls'. There is more to teenage boys than that.

Oh, I forgot to mention two things that were great:
1. The opening credits and song. Very cool. Gave me a fantastic 70s vibe, which wasn't continued throughout the film (apart from maybe Hill's hair-do), but it was quirky and great nonetheless. 2. Emma Stone. Hot, fun, talented, cool, adorable.

I loved this when it came out and every time I've seen it since, saw it again yesterday and it still cracks me up. The comedy is great throughout, the scene when Fogell introduces his fake-id is one of the funniest ever. Hill gives a best actor type performance and Cera plays well off him as the more nerdy friend too. The film has some touchy moments too that interlude perfectly with the comedic ones. While there have been some good comedies since this one, I've yet to see a actual funnier one.

Watched this ten years go and thought it was fine. I will have to disagree as bridesmaids and anything with Melissa McCarthy were funnier than this, although I did laugh at the “back is located on my cock” joke especially. Jonah Hill is a MASSIVE FUCKING ASSHOLE in this movie and so rude to Fogel that it ruined the whole movie. The movies subreddit has such a hard on for this movie and I don’t understand, for me Bridesmaids is the best comedy I’ve seen and the hardest I’ve laughed in a movie theater. No shade to the user above and others who like it, but Jonah Hill was so rude that it was appalling.
Personally Georgia Rule is my favorite drama/MILD comedy of 2007, that 17% on RT is a crock of shit. It absolutely had tone issues but a score that low is criminal, critics just had it out to hate Lindsay at the time. All 3 actresses should have been up for awards contention.

I never got the Bridesmaid thing but Feig/McCarthy did make two of the funnier movies last decade in Spy and the Heat.

I did not see this yet, so thanks for the recommend.

I agree with what critics said about the tonal imbalance of the film, but to rate it that low is a bit crazy to me. If nothing else, all of the actresses are great.
I really think LiLo's reputation at the time, and especially the VERY misleading trailer/ad campaign were a big part of the why critics were so harsh with it. I hope you like it!
