 Re: The Greatest Showman
Its fun and doesn't breath but the emotional moments don't connect and the stories aren't given enough time to build. They needed a bigger cut and hopefully more songs so that the movie had more impact but even with flaws this was a great movie.
7/10

 Re: The Greatest Showman
It's a testament to the winning spirit of the movie that I could even stand it, much less grow to really like it. It's bombastically saccharine, and applies so much gloss to what's supposedly a 'real story' that I nearly swallowed my rolling eyeballs. But then I downloaded four songs from the movie the following day. Over time my feelings have morphed from "Well, I made it through it" to "I'd see it again in theaters."
B
howbout that scene where Jackman and Efron take like 20 shots each?? most drinking I've ever seen in a PG movie

This movie is so cheesy and so great at the same time. It’s unabashed joyousness is infectious.

 Re: The Greatest Showman
The directing is pretty mediocre leading it to feel cheesy and artificial and the supporting roles didn't really come through as characters to me, the relationship between Barnum and the critic felt more real than with his employees, Efron and Zendaya was a who gives a shit for me personally. Our musical man Hugh Jackman does his thing and it starts and ends well song wise.

 Re: The Greatest Showman
How this doesn't have a sequel yet is mindboggling, especially now that it's with Disney. Maybe they can get one in for the 10th anniversary but unlikely.
