 Pre Easter Weekend numbers
The Amateur 2m The King of Kings 2m Drop 730k Warfare 1.16m
Seems good for Amateur but not sure how much is early screenings. Can't imagine it doesn't do at least 15m though.
Drop probably around 6m. Warfare around 8-9m King Of Kings high 20s.

 Re: Pre Easter Weekend numbers
Seems like a lot of pre sale shenanigans here so need to see the Friday/weekend numbers before judging.

 Re: Pre Easter Weekend numbers
The Amateur is the big surprise this weekend. Deadline projects a strong $6 million for Friday and $15 million for the weekend.
Meanwhile, King of Kings is looking at $18 million for the weekend. Before the buzz of a potential $20+ million opening and the reported $15 million in advance ticket sales, this would have been impressive. Now, it feels a bit underwhelming, though still a solid result. It can absolutely go higher, so maybe it won't end up disappointing.

 Re: Pre Easter Weekend numbers
That is what I realized fairly late.
I would say good for Amateur and good hold for Minecraft as well. It will do well over next 2 weeks.

 Re: Pre Easter Weekend numbers
Charlie was saying most theaters have not started selling for next weekend. It appears Angel would report the PIF gross as part of BO as well. They did that for Sound of Freedom and will do it here. So reported gross from Angel would be higher than what comscore can see for the day :-) Shady stuff indeed.

 Re: Pre Easter Weekend numbers
Decent for the Amateur but with the trailer released 6 months ahead of time acting like it was going to be this big release and overall 60 mil budget it's not like it's amazing, just not a bomb.
King of Kings is in good position with Easter coming up.

 Re: Pre Easter Weekend numbers
If Amateiur follows Working Man it gets to 16.6 OW. I think multiple will be better for 17m-18m.

 Re: Pre Easter Weekend numbers
For anyone keeping track (no one) Snow White is now at $181.6M worldwide. Dumbo by comparison was at $353M. Minecraft is at $550,561,733. Another $200M domestic as a rough estimate for $751M. Then all the global markets with Easter next week. It may even make a run for Aquaman's $1.15B global tally. And after being down 11% for annual box office revenues two weekends ago from 2024 box office (and 40% behind 2019) the year is now UP 0.5% from last year and 31% behind 2019.

 Re: Pre Easter Weekend numbers
Maybe WOM truly is good? Or this is the type of rare film where it doesn't matter, and FOMO from the breakout buzz is too potent to slow it down.

 Re: Pre Easter Weekend numbers
44% Sat/Sat drop tells me WOM is indeed good for its core audience. It's got zeitgeist must watch impact going on now too but could have easily fell 70% let along 50%.

 Re: Pre Easter Weekend numbers
Woah Snow White is doing badly. I didn't realize it was this level of thermonuclear bomb. Less than $200M global is insane.

 Re: Pre Easter Weekend numbers
Dont worry, when Snow White goes on Disney+ next month Disney will tout how it had the biggest streaming numbers for a remake of an animated film that was made before WW2. Lol
