 IJ5 Weekend #'s
DHD reporting $6-7.5M for IJ in previews. $60M-65M weekend expected. Even if it appeals to an older demographic, my feeling is if you have a $295M budget and possibly $50-100M marketing campaign, you want a bit more than $6M in previews. An OW under $50M isn't out of the question.

Even with good legs probably won't get to $200m. Shame.

 Re: IJ5 Weekend #'s
I cannot track this week or next 2 weeks but based on data seen at BOT it's missing 7m previews. Weekend multi will be better than flash but will most probably missing flash OW. OS is looking terrible as well. Another bomb this month.

Transformers opening to more than Flash and Indiana is just... lol
Hopefully Mission Impossible at least opens to Fallout #s, still not buying a halo effect from Top Gun

 Re: IJ5 Weekend #'s
Feels like the month of March to the first week of April was more exciting than the actual summer box office so far has been. To put things into perspective, Creed III will likely do better than The Flash and possibly IJ5.

 Re: IJ5 Weekend #'s
The Flash loses 1,538 theatres in its 3rd weekend It's still in 2,718 but losing so many is proof that there's just empty auditoriums all over the country. I think it's going to be a struggle to get it over $110m. Isn't it just going to shed more and more from here?

 Re: IJ5 Weekend #'s
Actually The Blackening has lost over 50% of its theatres, also in its 3rd weekend. That's the real flop leave Flash alone!

 Re: IJ5 Weekend #'s
The dropoff will be like Die Hard 4 to 5, except starting at a bigger point. Bringing back the nostalgia old guy like Crystal Skull, Live Free or Die Hard, or Rocky Balboa, is a move that works once, but the second time it feels like it shouldn't exist. They had it right with Creed making him the supporting character, if there was a Rocky 7 with him fighting again it bombs. Maybe they should have introduced a new adventurer character in the same universe, with Indy in it as 2nd billing as the guy who sets him on his quest and gives him the map. But they'd have to find a way to cut the budget in half.

 Re: IJ5 Weekend #'s
Did Flash lose its theaters on Thursday? Why did it fall so hard (-61%)?
All the other top holdovers had good/normal drops it seems.

 Re: IJ5 Weekend #'s
With a $295M budget and coming after a film that did $150M in its first five days.... not good.

 Re: IJ5 Weekend #'s
They should have literally just copied TGM's plot line to a tee and applied that to archeology. Guess it was too late by then.
Guess what movie will be gone in a FLASH this weekend due to losing 36% of its theaters? Is it hoping to outdo itself after its horrible drop last weekend? I'm not sure what the worst 3rd weekend drops of all time are for $50M+ openers but I'm sure Flash will make a great showing!

 Re: IJ5 Weekend #'s
So next weekend will probably be another weekend with no film over$30m. Good for holdovers but scheduling kinda sucked this summer.

Woof. $18M less than Crystal Skull's Thursday (though that had midnight showings.) The movie was nothing special but its crazy that a franchise once considered amongst the elite could fall so low.

 Re: IJ5 Weekend #'s
AFO sequel, let's go! Ford beating people up in that context would do huge as it has more camp factor. For IJ just felt sad at this point. AFO being a statemen and older actually works well for the role. Also Bridges will have have starred in Solo and IJ5. So she's now been a witness to the demise of two Ford character franchises.
