Re: Weekend Estimates...
Tenet is at a 3.8 multiplier from its first 3day weekend already. It's a low tally but 27% of markets are still closed, especially on the coasts. This could get at least a 8+ multiplier.

Re: Weekend Estimates...
If it weren’t for the pre-pandemic marketing spend, Tenet would be close to breaking even. This is a success story, as is Mulan but in different ways.

Re: Weekend Estimates...
Without much of a competition and such low grosses all movies are doing fine. I don't think the overall numbers are impressive but more so good because there is literally zero competition and different individuals eventually have to go out. As for Tenet I think a sub-10% drop, staying even or an increase this weekend is what I would have considered impressive. That's true for its next weekend as well.

Re: Weekend Estimates...
Yeah legs are good and all, but not at 4 million a weekend, this isn’t 1978. Really need a film to legit open over 20 for the 3 day so see any significant advantage

This would be 'fine' if it hadn't cost $200M.

Re: Weekend Estimates...
Theater business will rebound fast if the coasts are open IF we have a few high profile releases in a short time frame. I don't think TENET was going to do that well to begin with.
If we actually get NILE on 10/23, BLACK WIDOW on 11/1 BOND on Thanksgiving and then DUNE + WW84, Business will be much much better.
Need the awareness that all of their collective advertising will bring.

Re: Weekend Estimates...
Tenet was gonna have a big opening. The legs would have been shitty though. Probably a $70M / $165M type of run.

Re: Weekend Estimates...
No way it would have opened with 70m. More like 50m max.

Re: Weekend Estimates...
I'm thinking Tenet was more a $45-$50m opener and total gross around $130-$150m. But who knows.

Re: Weekend Estimates...
I think under normal circumstances Tenet would've been good for like a 55m+ opening. But ya... will never know lol
