Yeah Annabelle definitely hurt it a bit. But look at all of the extra money WB got from Annabelle. So it was totally worth it for them to take a bit less from this sequel. Will hopefully reach 100 Million. I think it should.

I wonder how Now You See Me 2 would have done without such tough competition. Probably over 30. I'm really impressed it did this much.

Maybe Annabelle helped keep it in people's minds. Looking at horror sequels in general, they drop like a rock, and this one didn't, so I think it could be argued that Annabelle actually helped maintain some retention for The Conjuring 2. Either way, this franchise is a success story at the box office.

See Lecter, Warcraft isn't doing $25m this weekend. And it's definitely gonna be a struggle to get to $60m as I said.

Warcraft was closer to $10.5 than $11m that's huge frontloading. Its legs ahead would be even more pathetic, the sequel will be made but I am sure it will see a major decline in OS markets/China.

TC2 can still do $40m with that Friday and anything close to that mark is anyways a great mark for it. I think it should be able to clear $100m with this opening, the WoM will definitely be good.

NYSM2 did see a big decline from the original even though it isn't disastrous as what we have seen this year.

I am wondering if Friday will be the only day Warcraft is ahead of NYSM2, I could see both of them ending very close to each other and by Wednesday NYSM2 should get ahead of Warcraft.

Now You See Me 2 is in the unfortunate position of being forgotten among the great performance of The Conjuring 2 and the overseas performance of Warcraft. To make matters worse, it is having a very soft debut. But people will probably not look back on it (or remember it at all) as a disappointment. It has gradually, over the last few months, sunk into our collective mind as a film nobody will care for, and it is playing out as expected.

Well, I was thinking it the Friday number would come in at $12 million.

Why? We've seen that when when the numbers start to drop with every new estimate they usually drop further.

Warcraft will be one of the highest grossing domestic films whose top grossing country was actually China. FF7 will blow it out of the water but it could be #2 when all is said and done.

Have you seen the latest China numbers for Warcraft? There is no chance it outgrosses FF7 in China. Also most of these movies will have done more domestically than Warcraft.

Furious 7 (2015) - $390.9 million (+11%)
Transformers: Age of Extinction (2014) - $301 million (+23%)
Kung Fu Panda 3 (2016) - $154.3 million (+8%)
Terminator: Genisys (2015) - $113.2 million (+26%)
Pacific Rim (2013) - $111.9 million (+9%)

Umm, Warcraft's run just started. I think lilmac was saying that when Warcraft's run is over, it has a chance to beat Transformers: Age of Extinction. At worst, #3 ain't shabby :)

Ok I thought he was comparing domestic numbers there. As far as China goes yes it will be most likely #3 film that did more in China than domestically.
