 The Jungle Book (INTL)
I think this deserves its own thread because this has a slight chance to over-perform like Zootopia. Germany still has The Jungle Book as its biggest movie of all time.
I see it clearing $500m OS and maybe even more. $700m WW should happen for this.

Great weekend. Looks like the race to $1b is on. It opened huge in China and most likely the legs will be great as well.

 Re: The Jungle Book (INTL)
Did it release in any other market this weekend? I remember reading that some of the big markets for this open as late as June.

 Re: The Jungle Book (INTL)
Japan gets it on August 11th. It's a perfect spot though (Obon Festival; strongest week of the year).

 Re: The Jungle Book (INTL)
Expected big drop though it does have a few more markets opening in June and August. It has a great shot at $1b as well.

 Re: The Jungle Book (INTL)
Quote: The Jungle Book in weekend 13 is softening its roar, for now. A $2M frame internationally brings the global tally to $935M. Korea added $1.3M this weekend for a total $18M. This is in advance of the final market – Japan – bowing on August 11.

 Re: The Jungle Book (INTL)
If it can add ~$10 million more, somehow, to reach $945/950 million, then Japan might push it over the $1 billion mark. If it's still ~$60 million away though... it'll be a lot harder.

 Re: The Jungle Book (INTL)
Yeah I am wondering the same thing, the last few markets it wasn't leggy and then the domestic onslaught slowed down as well. I see Japan getting it another $40m-$50m which means it still needs $15m-$25m outside of Japan and expected $10m from holdover markets and domestic. Maybe Disney will issue small re-releases or dollar theater runs in OS markets to push it past the mark.

 Re: The Jungle Book (INTL)
Quote: The Jungle Book’s 14th weekend overseas lifted the cume to $575.9M with help from a $600K frame. Korea is the biggest chunk of that at $200K with a total of $18.3M and Japan still to come on August 11. So it has to wait for almost a month to make much more. With its current pace it would need $60m from Japan, not entirely out of question given that Japan has been very kind to Disney live adaptations.
