If it drops below $8.5 mil, I'd be surprised.

 Re: Tuesday Numbers (March 29)
18% is a bigger than expected drop. I believe it was the holiday that helped it on Monday. This also makes me more and more confident on families being attracted towards this. There is a chance it does well over weekend.

Damn shame it's gonna take 6 days to top 200m.
Should've only taken 3 days

Zootopia dropped 22%, sorta makes the BvS number look a little better.

While I agree it could've held better like Home last year, 2015 was an outlier as most movies increased Tuesday after Easter. For example, family films like How to Train Your Dragon, The Lorax, The Croods both dropped in that range. Zootopia is still a beast and is on its way to $300M+ DOM total.

 Re: Tuesday Numbers (March 29)
Divergent down 6.8%...BVS looks worse that I expected by comparision. It had 22.2 times its number on Friday, 17 for the weekend, and now it's 10.7.If Divergent drops 50% and BVS lags behind it by 40% it's a 70% drop. If it lags by 50% its a 75% drop.

This is fun.
I'd guess BvS is pulled by Friday midday.

Decent number. It looks to plummet this week, that usually means a higher Friday increase.

 Re: Tuesday Numbers (March 29)
I think its clear from these numbers that the family movies were hit harded and that BvS will most likely act as one. Its weekend IM should behave like a family movie to an extent. I am still not sure why Sunday saw a bigger than expected drop though Zootopia also managed "only" a 30% hold.

 Re: Tuesday Numbers (March 29)
Some of its audience is families, but if it were anywhere near acting as a family movie it would have held better Monday.

 Re: Tuesday Numbers (March 29)
Monday was a good hold. It is still in its first week and a general frontloading does come with huge opener. You can't expect it to drop 20% on its first Monday

You can't expect it to drop 20% on its first Monday No, but if families were making a big difference it should do better than 55.5%. Thats a very far way from 20%. Sure there is frontloading for big openers, but Monday drops (Sunday too) are usually not so bad because of spillover. Sellouts on the weekends push business to weekdays when there are more empty seats. Still BVS had a big drop by any comparision, all things considered. It was just not a good drop.

 Re: Tuesday Numbers (March 29)
I think it has to do with weekend attracting fans and families starting only later in its run. I am not saying that its a GREAT hold and it will see sub-50% holds from here on, that's not going to happen for a movie with mixed WoM. Though I do not believe this will see a Twilight level frontloading.

 Re: Tuesday Numbers (March 29)
It usually takes some time for families to take over as a percentage of the audience. You see the trend in TFA's run, but the change was gradual.

 Re: Tuesday Numbers (March 29)
Agreed it does which is why its dailies are still surprising to me. Also the difference in drops that we both are predicting is not THAT big. You have to remember that we don't see many $160m+ movies that are critically panned and have mixed WoM among general audience so its going to drop big over dailies. I also think a sizable chunk of families who were interested in seeing this over OW didn't because of reviews. The problem is repeat audience and I don't believe those Fandago numbers.
