Post Creed - $100m Club SUCCESS

Ok, let's do this:

-It is the seventh film to one of the most popular franchises ever, and we know that 2015 is the "year of the seventh instalment" (Furious 7, A Force Awakens, wink wink).

-Rocky Balboa adjusts to $85m, and that was after years of Stallone in the wilderness. He's now been back for a while and gained some goodwill from people that appreciate Rocky Balboa, Rambo, and The Expendables.

-Michael B. Jordan will get some great exposure just a few months earlier in Fantastic Four.

-The urban crowd will be starving by Nov 25th. The last film to come out with a black lead will have been Kidnap starring Halle Berry on Oct 9th. It will play as great counterprogramming to Mockingjay Part 2 and The Good Dinosaur; something for guys (hopefully the Seth Rogen Christmas movie moves).

-It can have a leggy run through Christmas.

-Reactions to the trailer have been unanimously positive.

-The film looks great. The marketing so far has been solid and it looks to continue in that fashion.

---------

I say $100m is the floor.

This could happen though its too early to tell. When is the club closing? For now I'd say I'm IN.

That's kind of the point of making a club now as opposed to a week before it opens.

Jack Sparrow wrote:

It closes on 24th November 2015, but the later you join the less impressive it is when it crosses $100m.

Good man. Once you're in, you're in for good. ;)

Count me in. I feel like a lot of people are going to be interested in this one. I've seen quite a few friends on Facebook posting the trailer, and they don't even go to the movies much.

It will be the success story of the year if it does crack $100m. The first Rocky movie in 30 years to do so.

That's irrelevant. :mer:

I'm out. The Stallone/Arnold losing streak is alive and well. I hope it does get there though because that'll mean the film is exceptionally good.

Well, it's not when you read it with the rest of the sentence.

Nope. Still irrelevant. Too many factors.

Ok, it's irrelevant to you, but to me it's still relevant because it was only in 2006, not 1977, 1983 or 1999 (totally different eras).

So your for picking and choosing adjusted totals as long as it suits your argument. Got it.

Well, the adjusted total in this thread is ONE OF the factors. It just seems that you are using the adjusted totals for Star Wars films as your ONLY factor. There is no hard and fast rule for adjusted totals. It all depends.

Reading a back-and-forth between zwackerm and Excel requires the patience of a saint. ;)
