Tracking more closely now to what Hobbit films were doing post holidays.

Revenant, on the other hand, should see sub-50% drop from Monday.

The college football championship game aired last night. Last year the game was watched by 33.4 million viewers. I imagine it impacted the box office on Monday.

It had a bigger drop than a smaller movie would have because the Globes make less of a difference percentagewise from a 39.8m weekend.

It certainly didn't get as much help from GG as movies in the past, but judging from other movies' hold, it's a weak Monday in general.

The holds for SW and DH don't seem poor to me given their family audiences. Concussion, Sisters, Point Break, The Big Short, MJ: all normal for January. Alvin had quite the drop, but the franchise has seen over 85% a number of times before. Once 88.1%; about the same. It would happen a bit more if not for Spring Break (The week before or after President's day, and March or later), The Super Bowl, and holidays.

Seems normal.

That's a good thing if people are immune from the awards buzz.
