Post Screen Counts and Crowd Reports (August 13-17)
Rising up, back on the street
Did my time, took my chances
Went the distance, now I'm back on my feet
Just a man and his will to survive

So many times it happens too fast
You change your passion for glory
Don't lose your grip on the dreams of the past
You must fight just to keep them alive

It's the eye of the tiger
It's the thrill of the fight
Rising up to the challenge of our rival
And the last known survivor
Stalks his prey in the night
And he's watching us all with the eye of the tiger

What If is opening in a lot of theaters near me. Guess I'll check it out but its PTA will be rough.

They've been advertising the hell out of it on TV. I don't think it will do too great either. Maybe around 1.3 Million.

I saw Boyhood at my single screen art theater at 7:30. There were about 75 people or so there, which is actually pretty good for the theater.

The trailers were for Calvary and The Skeleton Twins (which looks fucking fantastic). Crowd was very responsive, lots of laughs throughout and a few gasps at a few spots as well. Lots of clapping at the end (though if the movie is good, that's normal for this theater).

I saw Calvary at 8:10. Around 50 people in a mid-sized auditorium. The trailers shown were for Birdman, The Drop, Laggies, and Pride.

Saw Let's Be Cops at 8:30, packed in a huge 400 seat auditorium. (this is a discounted theater that's always busy on the weekend though so ya). Trailers were Hot Tub Time Machine 2 (which actually got a really good reaction), The Interview, Alexander and the blah blah blah Day, Kingsman, This Is Where I Leave You and The Maze Runner. Audience reaction was really good, laughs throughout the movie.

I saw What If yesterday at 2:20, and was the only person in the theater. I'm not sure that's ever happened to me at that theaters, especially on a Friday. CBS really botched this, it could've been a solid hit.

I think I've been to 2 movies where I was the only one. One was Alien vs Predator, the other was Lost & Found.

It happened to me when I saw 12 Years a Slave, but that was at a weekday matinee, and a couple weeks into its run, so it made sense. This surprised me.

I saw The Giver at 3:20. The trailers shown were for Atlas Shrugged: Who Is John Galt? ( ;) ), The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies, Paddington, St. Vincent, The Theory of Everything, and Unbroken.

Then I saw The Expendables 3 at 5:45. The trailers shown were for Fury, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1, Interstellar, The Judge, Mortdecai, and A Walk Among the Tombstones.
