Post Early Friday Numbers
Eh, let's just make a new thread.

http://variety.com/2014/film/news/think ... 201238210/

Think Like a Man Too - $12 million
Jersey Boys - $6 million
22JS - $9.5 million
Dragon - $8 million

let's see how tonight fares with Deadline/RTH #'s.

Post Re: Early Friday Numbers
THR is saying $14 million for Think Like a Man Too, and $7 million for Jersey Boys.

The ranges are certainly wide right now when including Rth's earlier numbers, too.

I wish Dragon 2 could do $8 million today, but a 70% increase this time of year just seems a bit too high, especially after a strong Thursday (for all films). $7.5 million is probably the highest it can manage.

Next weekend will only be interesting if Transformers flops or does 50+ OD, which is doubtful.

Man of Steel increased over 70% last year, despite much more competition in openers and not gaining theaters. HTTYD 2 must have at least that increase.

Wtf. Jersey Boys 8.5-10m ???

Bloody hell. Should have gone with a higher number for Magnus' game. Then by virtue of being higher, I'd take the points. Fuck.

That's more like it for Jersey Boys. I'm sure older people were out for it during the day, giving matinee numbers a boost. But evening showings were too late. They had to get home and go to bed. ;)

Not overly amazing for Think Like A Man Too. Hart is a much bigger draw now and he couldn't get the film to even match the first film's opening? Though I will be curious to see if summer weekdays will help it match that film's total, or get close to it anyway. When Madea released a movie during the summer season that film actually held fairly good legs for a Tyler Perry movie. Maybe that will be the case here.

I wonder if the matinees for bustling for Jersey Boys since it probably skews so old, hence the thrown-off early estimates.

So it will be around Wednesday before HTTYD2 reaches $100m. Pretty awful for it. And The Fault In Our Stars also hasn't reached it yet. lol

Great for Maleficent and Edge.

Chef just lingering at the bottom of the top 10 is amusing, it's having a nice little run.

Unfortunately it's probably doing poorly :(. Did they air many TV ads this week?

Jersey Boys down to $4.5M to $5M Friday. Thought they just had to spoil any potentially good news.

That's not going to make KJer's happy - - they were wishing ill on both of them.

Fortunately, their faith in CinemaScore is very flexible depending on whether it supports or contradicts their opinions.
