 Re: Weekend Estimates
I wonder if Blended could break Snakes on a Plane's "record" of lowest attendance for an over-3,500 theater opener. If it ends its run under $41m, it will be lower than SOAP's adjusted total...

 Re: Weekend Estimates
Godzilla deserves to make it to $200m. I just saw it today and it's great.

 Re: Weekend Estimates
EoT manages a good hold so its chances for $100m are very well alive.
Godzilla FINALLY manages a good hold. It should eek its way to $200m in the end I guess.

 Re: Weekend Estimates
So FAULT drops from No. 1 to No. 5 - that's a pretty serious drop (-67 %)...

 Re: Weekend Estimates
$50m for Dragon is REALLY weak and hopes of topping the first one are completely gone.

At least X-Men: Days of Future Past will now certainly not be overaken by Maleficent.

 Re: Weekend Estimates
I'm very interested in HTTYD2's 3D share - the first one had 68 %...

 Re: Weekend Estimates
60 million is quite great for 22 Jump Street. Made at least 10 million more like Neighbors like I expected, although it'll probably fall with actuals. Probably won't hit 200 though but we'll see. and all things considered I'm surprised Neighbors didn't get a 60% drop.
Man, Spider-Man won't hit 200 for another week or two. lol

 Re: Weekend Estimates
TAS2 and HTTYD2 are the most disappointing performances of the year, even if both cross 200m

 Re: Weekend Estimates
The holdovers actually did very well on a supposedly massacre weekend.
Million Ways/Neighbours didn't fall over 60%, Godzilla, Maleficent, XMen, EOT above 50%.
Now the competition-less weekend next week will show 50% drops for no reason, as per summer 2014 BS.

 Re: Weekend Estimates
I've just seen "HTTYD2". Well, it's too good to end up below $200M or even $300M. WoM should be great.

I never link the quality of a movie with its performance at the box office, but this time I have to make an exception because this movie is just sooooo good. It's even better that I thought it would be. And I thought it would be fantastic.

WOM for Edge Of Tomorrow has been exceptional - - here at KJ there has been more consensus about it's excellence than any big budget summer movie in a long time, whereas HTTYD2 already has very mixed reviews.

Yes, I think WoM for HTTYD2 should be great, based on my reception of the film, my assumption on the reception of the film by other viewers and the very positive reviews. A few pasted links won't change my mind.
