Surprised a thread on this hasn't been made yet, but anyways I think this has real potential. This and GOTG will completely dominate August being the only BIG films of the month.
Marketing has been solid and being the first updated live-action Ninja Turtles adaptation in 22 years should definitely bring out the older/nostalgic fans.
Reviews might be awful, but this is the type of movie where audiences will show up anyways at least on OW. This could easily pull a Rise of Cobra if Guardians doesn't explode, but I'll stay a bit conservative for now.
I'm predicting 45/130.

How did you figure this, exactly?
The film looks beyond awful, and I admit there is a certain amount of intrigue, but this property is very much of a product of its time; the 1990s. Some 20 years have passed since and the brand hasn't grown at all, and all the fans of it beforehand are now adult men that wouldn't be seen dead watching it in a cinema, ESPECIALLY ON OPENING WEEKEND.
Kids and teenage boys that will see anything with CGI effects and that has the name "Michael Bay" in the trailer ... will see this. I can't see a lot of other demos rushing out to see it.
Opening: $25m Total: $62m

I think it looks pretty decent. And TMNT is immensely popular with little kids nowadays thanks to its Nick show. And all TMNT fans, regardless of what they tell you, will be there opening day.

Okay fair point, but you could say that about any of the many tv/franchise reboots we have had in the past 10-15 years. Scooby-Doo, Alvin and the Chipmunks, G.I. Joe, Smurfs etc. aren't' exactly relevant brand names anymore, but the live-action adaptations still did really well, because they were so popular back in the day.
Most of these movies were even considered to be pretty terrible, but audiences still showed up in big numbers anyways.

Yes, I see your point, which highlights the difficulty in predicting this movie. I'm sticking with my prediction though. I think the whole TV-film blockbuster revival thing has long passed..

This is the only blockbuster that I have actually heard people talk about more than any other film this summer. Even with GOTG breaking out I still think this is good for atleast a low 40's opening.
