 The Amazing Spider-man 2 (INTL)
The first one topped out at $490m but this one seems much bigger in scope and has more villians which might sell more in OS markets and now we have already moved on from the origins story this could see a good increase in OS markets.
As of now I think this will do $550m as its legs will be cut-short by Godzilla which will also be big in OS markets.

Hmm that's actually good news for Spidey then. Upping my predictions to $600m OS now.

this movie is taking advantage not only of Easter in many countries, but the May Day holiday. Also, it has Golden Week in Japan

Re: The Amazing Spider-man 2 (INTL)
Yeah I was surprised that this is coming out for Easter here and then will also take advantage of the Anzac Day holiday a week later (the equivalent of Memorial Day).

Algen, how can you just deliberately make bad predictions over and over?

My predictions are good. If you dislike them, ignoring them takes very little time indeed.

Re: The Amazing Spider-man 2 (INTL)
Its releasing over Easter ? That would mean its getting out next weekend? It would definitely hamper CA2's legs in those markets.

That's not good though, is it? Sequels almost always have worse legs. Opening at the same level as ASM in those markets means it's probably going to make less. It's already looking like it'll make less in the States.

Re: The Amazing Spider-man 2 (INTL)
ok after doing some research the numbers aren't that bad. First off Monday is a holiday almost everywhere that it has opened so it has another day to make money everywhere. Also, in the UK it had a five day opening while the first had a six day. Germany and Mexico openings increases from the first and so did many smaller markets. Only Spain and Australia decreased.
With the May Bank Holiday coming up and not much competition (unlike TASM which had TDKR which hobbled it) surpassing the first one seems guaranteed

Re: The Amazing Spider-man 2 (INTL)
Its also Easter Monday holiday here today and this coming weekend is also a long weekend. So that should help it. However it is going up against Lego Movie, Captain America and Divergent which are all doing huge numbers.
