 Re: Weekend Actuals 29/14
Dawn also went up by $250,000, putting its weekend drop at 50.1%. Really nice.

 Re: Weekend Actuals 29/14
How did Purge not drop off like 50% from the first? Crazy.

It looks like the Purge 2 is getting great WOM. I didn't hear anything bad about it and it greatly improved on the first film.

 Re: Weekend Actuals 29/14
A Million Ways aside, Universal has had a pretty ballin' year - Lone Survivor, Non-Stop, Neighbors and Ride Along have all overperformed despite being modestly budgeted, star-driven vehicles, and now The Purge 2 might top its predecessor in total gross. I'm guessing Lucy and Get On Up will continue their mostly-winning streak.

Don't forget Endless Loves hilarious run. 7 million opening day, 13 million opening weekend, 23 million total.

 Re: Weekend Actuals 29/14
The openers didn't do much but the holdovers did good. Not a bad weekend at all.

The movies did fine for what they were. It is just poor July scheduling.

 Re: Weekend Actuals 29/14
The Purge 2 did great business. Amazing it didn't have a bigger drop from the first. And it's super impressive it was underestimated by so much.
