I'm honestly shocked it is not doing better overseas, not even in China. Best case - it'll barely pass $200 million.

Nah, it'll get to $300m. It only needs $57m more, and I'm sure the weekend just gone's grosses haven't been added to that yet.

How is it not doing well in China?

It grossed $8.5m for 3 days. That's pretty good. Most films have an opening week here, but this opened on a Friday. By the next time we see a gross for China (after next weekend) it will be up to around $25m, which is the normal amount for foreign movies over here.

Just because it's China, doesn't mean every movie will make $150m like Transformers: Dark of the Moon.

Don't Chinese love IMAX films and sci-fi films?

There's the racism again.

You think because Transformers did well, they must ALL like ALL science-fiction movies? C'mon man, not all Chinese are the same, just like not all Germans were Nazis.

And, $8.5m for 3 days isn't bad.

It should post good numbers in Japan. May is really empty this year since everyone decided to release before Golden Week, so it's going to get more than enough showtimes and screens when it opens on May 31st. Plus, Tom Cruise is still arguably the biggest Hollywood star in the market after Johnny Depp at this time.

If BOM is accurate, the film hasn't earned more than $20 million is any market. I don't see Oblivion having much trouble reaching and probably exceeding that mark.

But I thought you like racism. And yes, ALL Chinese are the same, just as ALL the 'muricans are the same, morbidly obese and liking shit like G.I. Joe 2.

I don't like or dislike racism. I just expect, if they are racist, to admit it.

Lecter, that hurts man. Shot through the heart!!

Anyway, I'm sure Oblivion will do well enough in China and you will see that based on its worldwide gross, China will have a fair chunk of it.
