Magic Mike wrote: What amazing fucking numbers. I can't tell if this is sarcastic or not, because either way seems inappropriate considering these are some of the most expected numbers possible. Maybe slightly disappointing that Guardians/Ralph didn't increase considering Arthur and Happy Feet did last year.

He was being genuine, but now you've called him out he will probably make out he was being humourous.
Numbers are expected, but nice to see.

 Re: Early Saturday Numbers
Even though animated movies didn't increase then didn't fall big. These numbers are really good because the competition in the overall market is HUGE. As for last year there wasn't Skyfall or Lincoln being huge, overall market also impacts rest of the movies. In this case even though the animated movies decreased they held quite well, its not disappointing in anyway.

 Re: Early Saturday Numbers
I would argue it is disappointing because the older skewing flicks held on much better than previous years.
Of course it could be that they are substitute goods, but in general the CGI flicks are supposed to increase very slightly on Saturday TGW.

 Re: Early Saturday Numbers
I was absolutely being genuine. It's pretty terrific to see all of these movies posting big numbers.
