Release Date: March 15 against The Incredible Burt Wonderstone and the second weekend of Oz Running Time: 94 minutes Budget: $13 million Rating: R (Strong brutal violence, disturbing content, and some language) Directed by Brad Anderson (The Machinist, Session 9, Vanishing on 7th Street). Produced by WWE Films, released by TriStar.
Plot: When veteran 911 operator Jordan Turner (Halle Berry) receives a call from a girl (Abigail Breslin) who has just been abducted, she soon realizes that she must confront a killer from her past in order to save the girl's life.
This thriller actually looks fairly entertaining and the fact that it's from Anderson, an underrated director, is reason for optimism. The budget is small enough that it should be profitable before long even if it underperforms theatrically. I'm personally hoping for an opening of at least $9 million.
I'm thinking this will be the biggest thriller of the year, long live the R rating.

The good thing is that the premise is clear from the marketing.
Despite that it looks bad and a straight rip-off of numerous past movies.
$18m/$50m

If it does those numbers, that would be a huge success. Does having one Oscar winner and another nominee help at all for a movie like this?

Having Berry helps only if she was doing good in other movies same goes for Breslin. What I feel is that the premise is clear which always helps bring audience and we won't have many themed thrillers in the market.

Is Breslin the lead in Ender's Game as I haven't read the book and she's listed near the top on IMDB?

Na, Ender is male, Abigail will be playing Andrew's (Ender's) older sister, the character is quite awesome. If they do the book justice the film is headed for 300m+

Wow, wasn't expecting an R rating. That kinda makes me want to see it now.
I think this will get a 15-20 million opening.

You know, despite the trailer seemingly showing everything it looks pretty awesome and I know so many who are excited to see it. I have seen the trailer with practically everything since it was released, and it seems to always get a positive reaction.
Opening - 15-17 Million. I wouldn't be shocked to see it breakout to 19-22 Million. Yet I wouldn't be extremely surprised if it only opened to 12-13 Million. This could go either way. I don't really see a reason why it wouldn't be able to do low teens.

I see this performing similarly to Untraceable, which it also sort of looks like.
