Great work on the images LOL @ anyone thinking TDKR will go under $500m... Battleshippers at question #4 are already eliminated...

I don't get it. Why would answering Battleship to number 4 mean that you are wrong?

Question #4 is only for movies that were #1 for at least one weekend in the summer. Though I could still see a scenario where Battleship gets #1.

Question no. 10 would be way more interesting had we predicted Hope Springs. Even if it does half of, say, Mamma Mia!'s gross, chances are it'll still be well ahead of the other movies.

Haha yep. I rooted for Hope Springs in the initial thread, but I believe Magic Mike barely beat it to be in the prediction list.

Yeah, I should have watched the trailer for Hope Springs before I picked Madea.

Re: KJ's Summer Contest 2012 - Predictions Overview on Page
I see Savages flopping or at least performing very mildly. Outside of Tarantino, these stylish, ultra-violent, cooler-than-thou suspense movies often fall flat at the box office. Domino, for example, or Lucky Number Slevin or Running Scared or even Oliver Stone's own U-Turn. And though it has lots of recognizable faces in the cast, none of them are draws (apologies, Benicio). This type of movie needs a certain type of star (Mark Wahlberg, for example) to stand out. Coming out in the midst of G.I. Joe, Spider-Man, and Ted won't help either.
Could see a finish in the neighborhood of 25-35 mil.

Could see a finish in the neighborhood of 25-35 mil. It certainly won't be a big hit, though I think it looks really cool . I'm thinking 34-45 Million.

Maybe Sparkle because of Whitney Houston? Or (big, big) maybe People Like Us can become a major sleeper hit. I doubt it, though.

Looks like Dark Shadows is fucked. Lowest predictors to get points? Let's hope it can spring out some legs though I probably will pick up none.

I can't see that doing much more than 40 Million. Sparkle is possible.

MG, I predicted Prometheus for top R-rated film. But no biggie, don't have to change the nice charts on the previous page.

In the current ranking on the excel page, you didn't give me the point for Avengers being number 1 like you did for the other 3 that predicted that. Not that it's a huge deal right now or anything, just thought you should know.

Looks like MG Casey and I might be the closest on The Dictator with our 38 Million predictions. I doubt it will go much higher.

Eh, with a $4.5 million opening Wednesday, I'd be really surprised now to see it get a total as low as $40 million. I'll have to see how it plays out this weekend.
