 Re: Early Thursday Numbers
That would be a GREAT hold if it turns out true, but this is Nikki where talking about here.

Falling behind the original would be very troubling, but it had the fourth of July on the equivalent day.

 Re: Early Thursday Numbers
I'm beginning to think our beloved Dark Shape doesn't like these crazy Transformers movies!

 Re: Early Thursday Numbers
I thought I hid it better than that!
It's not why I'm responding this way, though. Just being clerical about it. People think it can still match the original, but being so far off on the equivocal day seems like that is very difficult.

 Re: Early Thursday Numbers
$20m+ is a little bit vague...
Well, if TF3 wants to follow the footsteps of WOTW it needs a $25.6m Thursday...

 Re: Early Thursday Numbers
It certainly won't match the second one. And honestly it is doing a bit underwhelming. But the drop for Thursday looks good.

Go look in the prediction thread, go look at the countless people predicting 200m, 220m, 240+ for the 6-day of this movie, when now it would be lucky to get around 170m, and will probably makes less than the original film total. That's pretty bad, not slightly underwhelming.

 Re: Early Thursday Numbers
its not amazing but 20 million Thursday pretty much locks in a 90 million 4-day or even more.
so 150 6-day is now assured and maybe more.

Mannyisthebest wrote: its not amazing but 20 million Thursday pretty much locks in a 90 million 4-day or even more. Depends. If it's only $20m, a 25% Friday increase and 3.4M IM (what TF2 had) for the 4-day frame puts it at $85m. Hopefully it does better than that.

 Re: Early Thursday Numbers
$21m on Thursday according to ERC. I'd say that's solid. Without midnight, Transformers 2 dropped 37% on Thursday, while this dropped about 28%.

 Re: Early Thursday Numbers
The frontloading has cooled quickly and it is now resembling the first movie much more than the 2nd, even if the Canada Day and July 4 holidays get some of the credit. The Friday increase may be higher than the previous 2 films.

 Re: Early Thursday Numbers
TF increased by 18% on Friday. That would be 77-78 3day and 93-94 4 day. 93-94 + 64-65 = 157-159
TF2 increased by 26% on Friday. That would be 81-83 3day and 97-100 4day. 97-100 + 64-65 = 161-165

 Re: Early Thursday Numbers
Canada day holiday is looking huge for TF3 in Canada, it is having the busiest afternoon time business so far.
IMO it should boost Friday by 30% or more.
It is sad however a 160-170 million 6-day would allow for a 300 million gross easily.
