Re: Weekend Actuals
Cars has a tough road ahead, even though it should hold well enough this weekend.

Re: Weekend Actuals
A lower IM than TS3 really really surprises me. That had father's day inflating saturday but still, this looked much more kiddie oriented and has a far less rabid fanbase, I don't see anything better than a 3.5 multiplier from here for 230m total, which is pretty mediocre imo. I really expected more support for this movie, then again it's probably good it's not doing great, anything to help pixar rethink this sequel craze.

Exactly. If they don't know how to behave, and feel OK offending others, they get their ass kicked, so they'll think next time before opening their rotten mouths.

Both Sat and Sunday drops for Cars 2 are not promising.

Re: Weekend Actuals
The best I could see Cars do is pull Wall-E's multiplier of 3.55 ($234.4 m).
Realistically, I think $215-220 m as an early estimate.

A 50% drop next weekend is probably assured.

Yeah, I'm sure PIXAR is really rethinking their strategy over there movie ending up possibly with 200M or more.. There isn't anything wrong with what this movie made, but once again, KJ Box office expectations were simply too high..
