 Re: Early Saturday Numbers
That's a BRUTAL Saturday drop for GL. I believe it's even worse than Fantastic Four 2. Looks like this movie won't have legs afterall.

 Re: Early Saturday Numbers
Also feel like she is a little low on Super 8. If her Saturday number is true, it should have a sub 40% drop with Father's Day.

 Re: Early Saturday Numbers
If that number is true, then why did Penguins stay flat today? That's a good number for Super 8, looks ok for GL I expected it to be more frontloaded cause of DC fans. Rest of the lot did ok including X-Men FC given the competition.

Quote: Fox Searchlight expands Terence Malick's Tree of Life into 114 screens and grossed $323K Friday and $450K Saturday for an estimated $1.1M weekend and an estimated cume of $3.9M. The specialty house also opened newcomer The Art Of Getting By onto 610 screens and grossed $296K for Friday and a disastrous $230K for Saturday with a disappointing weekend of $700K.

 Re: Early Saturday Numbers
I feel the sudden urge to express a pet peeve: people who say they're drunk online. It seems so pointless. It seems cynical and self-serving to try and bring the whole "I'm so drunk and irreverent right now!" vibe to an online setting. But whatever.

 Re: Early Saturday Numbers
I don't believe these. Holdovers had a lousy Friday AND a lousy Saturday?
Fuck went wrong this time? Or right in terms of weather or whatnot that people ditched the movies.

 Re: Early Saturday Numbers
Also Penguins increasing 2%? I don't think the book fanbase rushed out to see it, if as Libs says, it bastardizes the book.
So, yeah, these numbers are dodgy.

Fuck went wrong this time? Or right in terms of weather or whatnot that people ditched the movies. What is so lousy here? Not a single drop below 50% except for X-Men. Super 8 with good Sunday hold could still have 38-40% drop. Midnight in Paris dropped but 10% or so.

 Re: Early Saturday Numbers
Well this could still all be Nikki's superb math skills. But if these numbers hold it's a definitely underwhelming Saturday for pretty much every movie.
