I can't remember a single shot from TE2's trailer but maybe they've learned some lessons, then again, TE did relatively well, so they can be as boring and generic and get away with it with people cumming over an awful Last Supper rendition poster. I agree with this.

Expendables 2 will repeat #1 two weeks in a row, instead of three because I just realized the market hasn't had a PG-13 horror film in more than a year. The Apparition is very unlikely to break out so The Possession should open close to $20M 4-day.

Wouldn't that be...really bad? Would it even make $80m total with that number?

Re: The Expendables 2 Predictions - Will it break out? I hope it goes up, but I can definitely understand the lackluster numbers. It's definitely the type of franchise that has very niche appeal. Most of the people in my audience were over the age of 30 and they seemed to be the only one's having the most fun with it.

Re: The Expendables 2 Predictions - Will it break out? Not surprisingly it had a better Saturday drop then the first and Sunday was very close. Don't be surprised if it can manage the 17 million second weekend the first had. I can see pretty much every film the next two weeks flopping badly.

I think it will make $13m next weekend, which is still great for this type of film considering its opening, but not good enough to get it on track with the first Expendables. I suppose it's all down to the weekdays and how it performs there.
