Theater Counts & Screen Reports (Memorial Day Weekend)
Apparently The Hangover 2's sales for tomorrow are only 17% behind Indiana Jones & The Crystal Skull at my theater. That's really impressive considering the pedigree of IJ.

Rolling Thunder, how does H2 compare to Terminator 4 and/or Sex and the City 2?

Re: Theater Counts & Screen Reports (Memorial Day Weekend)
i'm not sure if this is mentioned or not, but here in Canada hangover 2 is opening at most theatres tonight at 10pm. I'm seeing it at that time tonight with my friends.
I'm not sure if this is happening in the US as well, and not sure how they are going to report these grosses, seperate or not...

Around here it's just midnight screenings.
The whole 10pm the-night-before screening craze (Iron Man, Star Trek) seemed to die in America two or three years ago.

Re: Theater Counts & Screen Reports (Memorial Day Weekend)
I think Thursday night previews were more common in the 90s. I specifically remember seeing Batman Forever (god I am so old) the Thursday night before it opened.

Some midnight sellouts for Hangover so far, btw. I'm sure there are more, I didn't look very hard:
AMC Century City (LA): 12:01, 12:01 Regal Fenway (Boston): 12:01 Regal Gallery Place (DC): 12:01 Regal Atlantic Station (Atlanta): 12:01

Re: Theater Counts & Screen Reports (Memorial Day Weekend)
TH2 is already acting like a MONSTER here in Houston. It has pretty much sold out 4 of the major theatres here and I have to say that most of those theatres are also showng it at multiple auditoriums. I deffentially expect it to still sellout all of them by late tonight.

Re: Theater Counts & Screen Reports (Memorial Day Weekend)
Theaters around here aren't even having midnights for Panda . I wouldn't expect midnights for that to do much business. Kids have school tomorrow . Though if adults without children wanted to see it it would be the perfect time to go because you wouldn't have to watch it with a bunch of annoying kids.

Re: Theater Counts & Screen Reports (Memorial Day Weekend)
It's essentially the exact same movie as the first, so I wouldn't be surprised if audiences ate it up. I enjoyed it, but it reminded me a lot of Sex and the City 2 for some reason

Re: Theater Counts & Screen Reports (Memorial Day Weekend)
There have been 3 sellouts at shows at 10:00 pm
Friday presales are as strong as Satruday..
Also 3 10pm showings today were all near 80% full...

Hangover is absolutely killing midnight screenings in Omaha. I don't know if I'll be able to see it tonight. Now I wish I'd made it to the advance screening in L.A., oi.

But it's definitely totally insane right now. There's quite a few theaters that have 5+ midnight showings.
