Hmm Megamind had the exact same muliplier as Shark Tale from 2004. I wonder if it was also have a VERY similar run as well ? Solid opennings for Due Date and Colored Girls although those insane friday sellouts for CG were REALLY misleading. As for DD I know people were expecting alot more since alot of predictions had it in the $35 - $45M range and it should still do $100M+, but it will struggle getting to $120M since WOM ain't that great. I seriously expect it to end it's run under or barely over $110M. Lastly FANTASTIC hold for Red.

Red needs a 4.173 multiplier to get to $100 m. Given its hold this weekend, it has a very strong chance of getting there now!

Secretariat looks like it could get to $65 m +, that would be great from a $12.7 m opening weekend...

Solid for all of the openers, though a bit underwhelming for FCG. Mega Mind had a huge Saturday, and I think its Sunday may end up being stronger than estimated. Mega Mind should be set for a big second weekend as well.

Great for The Social Network. 20% drop after losing 1/3 of its theaters. It's per theater average went UP 18.6% this weekend!

According to boxoffice Megamind got an A- Cinemascore, Due Date got a B - and For Colored Girls got an A.

How did The Social Network lose 900 theaters and see its PTA go up $300??? Usually PTAs don't stabilize until the theater count is around 1,500.

If Red gets to $100 m, it will be Bruce Willis' first non-sequel/non-animated film to get there since 1999's The Sixth Sense. Including sequels, it would be only his second (Die Hard 4 being the other).

Looks like Stallone isn't the only one making a major comeback. Could Arnold be next?

Well, Willis was featured in The Expendables' marketing.

I doubt it matters but Red was based on a comic so it has some sort of minor fanbase. (Not that anyone outside of US knows)

And second, Red is rated PG-13 whilst Due Date, PA2 and almost every other film in October was R so it's the prime sneak-in candidate.

Not saying that it has that big a benefit but taking into consideration the demos that may check out movies like DD and PA2 I think that it needs to be pointed out.

WOM is what really makes Red run so good. It's a crowd pleaser and a good and funny action movie with great cast. If IRC it's audience is mostly 35+ crowd, which knows those actors and they like this kind of stuff.

Next week it might also get a competition but honestly Unstoppable looks like a movie directed towards 18-25 year olds and it shouldn't harm Red too much. I think that we will get another under 30% drop next weekend.

Maybe Halloween weekend killed them all last weekend, so they recovered this weekend?

Even with mixed WOM I still think it will benefit from there being no big comedies out right now. I mean even CR did $100M+ because of the empty market of comedies and that movie was pretty damn terrible.

Good Saturday for Megamind. If it gets a good Sunday there is still a chance for 50m finish for the weekend.

OK for DD and FCG.

WOW for RED. It should now get to 100m with these incredible holds. I really am surprised with its run overall. A sequel might be in store..wonder if Summit already announced one...

I've been waiting for them to announce a RED sequel. Would be smart. Can't really see one not happening at this point.

I think it's just due to being a somewhat weak Halloween weekend movie and a somewhat strong election day movie. The momentum gained from the weekdays plus a theater loss translated to more packed theaters. It damn near had a straight increase on Thurs, which is crazy.

Yeah, I thought its Friday number was a typo when I saw it. Definitely great for most of the holdovers. I didn't even consider that most of the holdovers had harsher drops last weekend due to Halloween.
