WC was underestimated $1.7M. The sunday drop was only 9%. This will have killer legs.

Almost every movie went up.

Oh, and if no one noticed, not only did Wedding Crashers increase on Saturday (18%!), but decreased an extremely small 9% on Sunday.

Holy crap, the new releases both had such small Sunday drops, I mean Wedding Crashers had only a freakin 9% decrease from Saturday The movie was funny as hell, it deserves it =D>

Awsome for Batman, it went above 6m and dropped less then 40%

34 mill just about for WC....that is incredible...

I think Wedding Crashers is going to be frontloaded. It looks like one of those types of movies that you see once in the theater and then wait to see again when it comes out on DVD.

CatCF, on the other hand, is a fantastical movie experience that many people have *already* seen multiple times in the theater because it is fun for all ages and you get so into it that you feel like you have to see it again just to experience the laughter over and over again.

Oh, one more time, what a number for March of the Penguins! Only a 28% drop in PTA even though it more than doubled the theater count. And look at its weekend dailies. 86.5% increase on Saturday and a tiny 9.1% drop on Sunday for a multiplier of 4.56.

It's amazing how an R-rated comedy opened higher than American Wedding (though only by $500,000), Anchorman and Dodgeball.

Judging by its weekend performance I would would have to say quite the opposite.

Utterly fantastic and surprising for both openings. Amazing.

Dissapointing for DARK WATER.

I don't see anything hurting WC until maybe June 29th when Must Love Dogs might give it some competition, since it seems to be perceived as a rom-com (albeit a raunchy one that appeals to guys too). The Island is coming out next week but I haven't heard much buzz about it. Does anybody think that would hurt take away from WC's audience?

I think Charlie should have clear sailing unless BNB gets some seriously good buzz. So far all I'm hearing is that it's not too exciting to people this time around. And speaking as a parent, I'd say I'd be a lot more worried about taking my kid to see Billy Bob Thornton than Johnny Depp in an Anna Wintour wig!

No, I don't. I don't have a job at all at this point in time. I'm just a lowly 20-year-old girl in Kansas City who will be starting my second year of community college come next month (I can't believe they're *already* having "Back to School" commercials on TV!).

Yeah, I've never been so adamant about defending a movie before (well... as far as I can remember). I've not really figured out why people seem to hone in on me, as I'm not the only outspoken defender on the 'Net. I'd come to the conclusion that I was picked out of the crowd at IMDb because I was one of the rare well-spoken people amongst the idiots over there. And I suppose here it's because I'm relatively new (like the Burn Ward... LOL) and very outspoken.

But, no. I don't work for WB. I'd never want to work for (or in conjunction with) a movie company like that anyway. If I get into Hollywood (which due to my homelife and financial situation, will never probably be possible), I don't plan to actually get *into* it. I want to be more like George Lucas and Robert Rodriguez and make movies on my own terms.

Great numbers all the way around. Alot of them, Factory, Crashers, BB, were all underestimated before. Nice to finally see a strong week at the office. I'll also have to recant my predictions that Mad Hot Ballroomw ould hold off Penguins. I still don't think Penguins will make more than 8 million, but I need to down Ballroom to only about 6.

Great all the way around, except for F4 and Dark Water, and lets just say I am perfectly fine with F4 dropping that much.

dolce, it's impossible that Penguins will gross less than 8M. It can make that number by the end of Sunday. Actually, I'll claim that it will definitely reach 8M by then.

Do the penguins get a cut out of the theater royalty. Someone needs to find the penguins a good lawyer. To be screwed like that over movie profits, there is no justice.

Are you kidding me? Teh film went up by 19% on Saturday and dropped 9% on Sunday. It had more than a 3 multiplier for the weekend. This baby is not frontloaded. You can pretty much count on 100 mill now for this. Great film with wonderful wOM.

I am constantly surprised by how well Batman and Mr. & Mrs. Smith are holding up. They have honestly both had amazing legs this summer. I'm also very surprised with Herbie: Fully Loaded, its going to end up with a great total. Charlie & The Chocolate had an impressive weekend. It should have some great legs over the next few weeks. The Wedding Crashers did amazing, especially for an R rated comedy. It should have fantastic word-of-mouth, and slowly but surely pass the $100 million mark. March of the Penguins did incredible. Fantasic 4 fell really hard, it should die a slow and painful death. War of the Worlds fell pretty hard too, but it should get to $220 million at least, which is pretty damn good, but it shoud've did a little more than that. Overall, I'm very satisfied with these numbers.
