 Re: January 1-3 Predictions
2003 saw very slim declines. I think we'll see the same, with most films dropping under 30%.

Is there TC loss? Or is there none?

 Re: January 2-4 Predictions
I see some TC drops from Four Christmases (Christmas is over), Bolt and The Day the Earth Stood Still (bad PTA). Twilight might hold on to its TC considering it is not a festive movie (doing mediocre on both Thanksgiving and Christmas) and should recover some from Christmas.
We should see some TC increases from Marley And Me, Bedtime Stories, Valkyrie, Yes Man and Benjamin. On the indie side, there may be expansions from The Wrestler, Gran Torino, Frost/Nixon, Revolutionary Road, Milk, and Slumdog.

 Re: January 2-4 Predictions
Do movies usually expand at all that weekend? I can't remember. I didn't think they did very much.

For the record, Dreamgirls (2007) and Calendar Girls (2004) expanded wide that very weekend while Finding Neverland (2005) and Brokeback Mountain (2006) added 100+ theaters. But since no major expansions are listed on BOM, I don't think any of the major releases will have substantial increase in TC.

 Re: January 2-4 Predictions
According to Box Office Mojo, Gran Torino is expanding to 2300+ theaters on 1/9. Personally, I wish it were expanding this coming weekend since there's nothing to see while there's a bunch I will be seeing the weekend of the 9th-11 (at least 8 movies!).

 Re: January 2-4 Predictions
Yeah.
Would seem to be a good indication for Avatar. I'm certain the 3D for that movie will be much more eye catching.

 Re: January 2-4 Predictions
OK for the Unborn. Great for Bride Wars and Bloody Valentine. Notorious is OK. Blart just plain fails, I guess I'm not the only one not interested in this at all-DVD included. Hotel for Dogs was something I'd check out on DVD so yeah.

 Re: January 2-4 Predictions
I hope The Unborn can open to $15+ million. It actually looks reasonably creepy.
Bride Wars will definitely top 27 Dresses at this point.
