The highest grossing film of 2009?
What film do you think will be the highest grossing film of 2009?
I'm going with Transformers 2.

This is an easy one unless something really surprises us. Right now I only see two films make 300 and I can't see Potter making more than 310.

Re: The highest grossing film of 2009?
I agree with Jedi, I only see two films next year passing $300 million (but yet I do see a couple coming close like Terminator).
So Top 2........
1. Transformers: $425 million 2. Half-Blood Prince- $321 million

Is that the sequel to 300 I keep hearing so much about? ...and what about the 2009 re-release of TDK? Perhaps there are enuf weak-minded proles to make that the top grosser for two years in a row...

Ive said forever. Avatar is going to King Kong jr. It will be a fun movie to follow and will likely have defeaning buzz & hype around release but the box office wont really be there.
Literally no way Transformers loses...I say it win with 445 million.

Transformers 2 won't top $400m. I like to believe people found it fun but didn't LOVE it because that's how i felt and well, people better feel the same way! *lol* Never mind the yahoo grades...

Yes, Transformers. Avatar will have to be Cameron's best yet to top it.

Pathetic! Twilight. Transformers 2 seems most likely, but all the 450M type predictions are a bit much I think.

I doubt it will make more than $150M Avatar: The Last Airbender (not the same Avatar movie coming out next year) is actually a really good cartoon. I'm not a cartoon/anime fan at all, but I enjoyed A:TLA after my niece got me into it at Thanksgiving.

Re: The highest grossing film of 2009?
Transformers 2 will win the year by over $100m, unless Avatar really clicks. And even though I worked on the film, it annoys me... the Transformers series really is not deserving of becoming the new Top Franchise. But the truth is that Transformers has the perfect appeal to general audiences, and the sequel's performance is going to reflect that.
1, TF2 - 160 / 450 2. HP6 - 120 / 300 3. Alvin and the Chipmunks 2 - 70 / 280 4. Avatar - 50 / 250 5. Terminator Salvation - 70 / 220
