Which movie will be #1 next weekend?
It looks to be quite a tight race, it seems.
I thin we've mainly got three contenders: Lakeview Terrace, My Best Friend's Girl and Burn After Reading.
Normally, I'd just say My Best Friend's Girl easily (looks most audience-friendly), but its R-rating and the oversaturation of the market with R-rated comdies recently makes me think that it'll be closer.
Good Luck Chuck opened last year to $13.6 million, but I'd argue that My Best Firend's Girl is more likely to work as a date flick and Kate Hudson is a bigger draw than Jessica Alba, so I think it'll open around $14-15 million.
Lakeview Terrace on the other hand is PG-13 and looks to have a generic, but quite commercial premise. I could see it pulling a similar number too.
I think Burn After Reading has a chance if both underperform, as it should make $11.5-12.5 million in its second weekend.
Right now, I'm leaning towards My Best Firend's Girl, but only by a little bit.

I'm going to say My Best Friend's Girl, although Burn After Reading and Lakeview Terrace won't be far behind.

I'll go with Burn After Reading
The others look disgustingly bad

Isn't My Best Friend's Girl R? If so, that might help Lakeview Terrace.
Also, this is the first time I can recall where Lionsgate has released a film wide in three consecutive weeks.

It's either going to be Lakeview Terrace or Burn After Reading. I'll go with Sam Jackson on this one. For some reason I just don't see My Best Friend's Girl opening well. Maybe it's me but I just haven't seen much marketing for it.
