Also From MCN:

Appaloosa 79,500 14
The Duchess 56,100 7
Battle in Seattle 18,900 6
Hounddog 4,300 11
Walking on Dead Fish 3,700 1

Good although not necessarily great average for The Duchess (should be around $28K PTA), while Hounddog bombed.

The box office of September looks like a ghost town to me...

As I said in the other thread, a solid opening for Lakeview Terrace. Not a breakout hit, but it could see a solid $45-50M total.

That's a bit better for My Best Friend's Girl than what FM had. Still a mild performance, though.

Decent hold for Burn After Reading. Terrible drops from Righteous Kill and Family That Preys, though.

Appaloosa and The Duchess are strong in limited release if you go to MCN. Hounddog, on the other hand, is not.

Hounddog was expected to expand slowly. I doubt that will happen now.

Good for Appaloosa, but those numbers don't suggest that it will reach a very wide screen count. Semi-wide, probably.

Actually, it's not that bad. At least it's still on pace to exceed last year's weekend.

Yeah, the market is actually doing quite good for this time of year. The only reason I made that statement was because I wanted to incorporate "ghost town" into a sentence. :P
