Weekend Actuals (TDK - a lot!)
We won't have another week like this this year, so I thought I'll bring back the fun of anticipating something for a few hours just for a day. Also because I'm still a little jealous that I missed out all the funs on Friday and Saturday. BTW, what happened to showbizdata? Are they in the process of changing their web layout? EDIT: The Dark Knight - $158.3 million!

Re: Weekend Actuals (none yet; Sunday real actual anticipation)
My most anticipated number is TDK's Sunday, and whether it is actually above $40m. That, and I would like to see the top 10 get $250m combined

I'm hoping Mamma Mia! was underestimated some, and by all accounts, it probably was.

$158.3 million Damn, those record breaking openers get underestimated by 3mil like clockwork. Kinda surprised the-numbers was the first to pick up on this though.

Re: Weekend Actuals (TDK - $158.3m!)
Hmm, that also says it got an 8% drop on Sunday. That means the breakdown must look a little like this: Friday: $67.5 Million Saturday: $47.3 Million Sunday: $43.5 Million

Re: Weekend Actuals (TDK - $158.3m!)
I'm not really sure what to think any more. This is just crazy, and all I know is that this is as perfect a setting as we are going to get (one of, if not the biggest fanbase + crazily good reviews/WOM from the previous film + hopefully crazily good reviews/WOM for the next film) for a film, in this case TDK 2, to break Titanic's record .

Amazing. they are obviously still posting numbers lower than its actual, no way the film had a sub 10% drop, that would be the greatest sunday hold in history, not even the lost worlds sunday increase can compare.

In a lot of ways, this is pretty similar to BM89. That film got an amazing 13% drop in the middle of June. Wonder if we could see Dark Knight get a sub-45% monday drop now.

Ha, they always are underestimated. Now no one can say crap about admissions and inflation and blah blah blah Spider-Man 3 is out. 49% Monday drop like Pirates would put it over $22M Monday.
