To be honest, I'm a bit disappointed by WALL-E, I expected something close to $10m...

As I said in Lecter's Indy domestic #1 thread that it sucks this year that the number #1 wont make more than Shrek the Third and Spiderman 3 barring a huge huge breakout for TDK. I still have TDK pegged at 300 million but nothing over 320

Showbiz added the $8.8m figure twice to its total :disgust:

No, it's July 1st. Canada Day. But judging from its weekend numbers, Wall-E doesn't seem to be as popular in Canada :tears:

kids love chocalate more than robots. I gave my nephew an option between chosing a chocalate bar from my one hand and a rock em sock em robot, he chose the chocalate

I'd say strong increases, like 20-25%, I think.

Except that Michael Jackson was the bigger character than the chocolate.

As long as Wall-E stays above Ratatouille for the rest of the week I'll be VERY happy

I'm not sure. Most people had Monday off too, and that didn't seem to do anything :mer:

Won't the HANCOCK previews neutralize the gains?

I don't know. Transformers' Monday previews didn't seem to affect the Monday drops of the other movies all that much.

Plus I think the previews for Hancock would be much lower than Transformers. The latter had more upfront demand

Wall-E needs to average $8.52m Tue-Thur in order to grab the biggest opening week for Pixar.

Worse hold than Rat (or Charlie), better Monday still. *shrug*

The bigger they are, the harder they fall. Still a good Monday number for Wall-E.
